Would you ever get a 1/1 card signed?

I had been looking for this card of Richard Petty for a while, but I haven't been searching lately. Well, today I decided to go on the hunt, and found it on ebay. It's a 1/1 Goodwin Champions Presidential Gold foil back. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that it is signed. To me, this is ruining a treasure. I can understand getting cards signed, but THE 1/1 Goodwin Champions Presidential Gold Foil back. Everyone is different and some like their cards signed, but you have to understand, this is a treasure, a real piece of art, and these 1/1 Goodwin Champions Presidential back cards are real treasures because only one copy in the world exists.

a one of one? absolutely not for me.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
A 1/1 signed? Yes 100% and it would be sent to PSA for authentication/Grade then sold immediately. I’m not an auto guy so it would not be anything to me other than money
From a collector standpoint, I would've bought that card in a second if it were unsigned. I just can't stand to see writing on a treasure like that, even if it is Petty's signature. His signature is one of the most easiest signatures in the hobby to obtain also. I could see getting the base card version autographed, but THE 1/1 Holy Grail? I just can't believe it. When I first spotted it, I was ready to hit the buy it now button, but then I saw that it was signed. I'm still in disbelief.
Oh heavens no, what have they done to you Richard!
Yes, I already have. I have the 2014 Panini Prizm Black Finite Lance Alworth 1/1. Got it signed as soon as I received it. I'm trying to do the whole rainbow and am now at 17/19 on completion.
I personally don't care for signed cards but in this case of your particular 1/1 and how you feel about it I believe it's a no-brainer for you to pull the trigger and grab it! And it's signed by King Richard so that's pretty awesome!
No, I actually don't like signed cards, especially when it's a 1/1 card. I think it ruins the card itself, so I'm going to pass on it. I would have bought if it was unsigned. It's very disappointing because this is a 1/1 card that I had been looking for a while.
I feel your pain, you finally find it and it's signed. I have just a few signed cards myself but they are definitely the exception and not the rule for me.
Yeah, I'm disappointed but I'll find another card, I've got my eye on something already, so I'll get over it.
Buy it and get it laminated
I was thinking, can you imagine what this would look like autographed? A piece of art like that, so beautiful in it's natural state.
If it’s a 1-1, what are you going to do, find another one?
My opinion is that altering a 1-1 in any way only has the ability to devalue a card. If there are 3 and 1 is signed, then there’s a comp and maybe you’ve added something.
I think the dog probably adds nothing to the card except risk (as demonstrated by the OP response).
I like the autograph on that 1952 Mantle.
Always amazed me how Mantle signed every one of those cards, and the signature looks almost identical on each one.
