I just heard that Joe Flores of Stockton, CA passed away on 25 April 2021.
Joe was one of the founders of the USMex Numismatic Association and at one time, had arguably the best collection of Mexican Revolutionary coinage (1910~1920) ever assembled. He was also an author. He co-authored, together with "Woody" Woodworth, La Ventana (a book about the Revolutionary coins of Oaxaca).
Joe had tremendous wit and told it like it was!
I will miss him greatly.

I'm sad to hear this.

Sorry to hear.
A few of my revolutionary coins came from him. Many years ago, before I ever met him, there was this guy at Long Beach that kept outbidding me on the revolution coins I was trying to buy. Didn't find out until later, it was Joe.
RIP, my friend.
RIP, Joe. You will be greatly missed.

Always sad to hear this kind of news, especially ones who contribute to the hobby in significant ways. RIP, Joe.
Really sad news.
Hi there, I'm Joe Flores's granddaughter. Thank you so much for the kind condolences. I hope his love for Mexican coinage carries on through you all.
Best,
Vanessa Flores D'Agostino
My father-in-law was a wonderful caring man. He was a great asset to the coin community. He taught me many things about coins and people and life in general. We became close as a daughter-in-law it was so easy to know him and his values. His son Joe Flores Jr was very close to his father and spent much time with him the last 3 years of his life. He was a very loving father and father-in-law, he said to my husband I was the daughter he didn't have. He was like a father to me. God has taken a great man and father. My wonderful mother-in-law is now with her bad boy (we used to joke about this) will love you both forever Dad and Mom! and can't wait to see you again.
Deepest condolences. A bastion of the community, he will be missed by so many!
I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.
