Tempest Storm, RIP, America's greatest burlesque and striptease artist
Tempest Storm, the famous "Exotic Dancer" or "Stripper", passed on April 20, 2021 at the age of 93.
I do not have a US coin to honor her but here is this Italian coin minted 100 years ago:
Italy 20 Centesimi 1921 "Flying Lady"
Post a coin to honor Tempest Storm.

Ummm.... I don’t think there are any U.S. coins with strippers on them. The closest I can think of is the type 1 standing liberty quarter which may have been risqué for its time.
First thing that went through my mind when you mentioned "strip tease" was...
Doggedly collecting coins of the Central American Republic.
Visit the Society of US Pattern Collectors at USPatterns.com.
Hmmm. Why am I thinking there might be a story here that I don't want to hear.
(I know you're talking about the planchet strip. I just couldn't help myself)
Ummm... ok

Condolences to the family. She was a great performer with an amazingly long career. Cheers, RickO
Was she still doing her thing at age 93? If so I wouldn't buy a ticket for it but that's just me. Different strokes for different folks. 👯

@Hydrant,.... Well, she obviously maintained a figure and ability long after most women... Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia.... "Storm officially retired from regular performance in 1995 at the age of 67, but continued making occasional stage performances. In 1999, she stripped in San Francisco's O'Farrell Theatre to mark the club's 30-year anniversary. Mayor Willie Brown declared a "Tempest Storm Day" in her honor.[2] She also performed at the annual Burlesque Hall of Fame Pageant events at least through 2010." So she performed at 82.... Amazing. Cheers, RickO
This may complete the forum. There is now a forum topic for everything.
I was personal friends with another iconic stripper in Baltimore...Blaze Star owner of the famous 2 o'clock club on Baltimore's block.
As a kid she rode in our little league parades , gave countless cash to the community as well churches believe it or not. She lived not far from a gas station i worked in a a teen.
I still remember her coming in and service her car,gas and oil tires.
She also was the GF of a Southern governor, and their story known across country.
Blaze was a good person no matter how she made her money, one shouldn't pass judgement unless you know the entire story.
May miss Storm RIP im sure like Blaze she had a colorful life like most of us saints and sinners.
