Sorry if anyone is getting tired of seeing these, but they certainly fit the theme of this thread.

Nice coins and nice photos. My family didn't have a color TV until 1967 though my grandparents had one in 1962. Color TV caught on surprisingly slowly. The first attempt in the US was by CBS in 1951. It was a complete flop due to the extremely high price (apparently about $2000) and the fact that you could not receive black and white broadcasts. I believe NBC launched their color TV broadcasts in 1954 but many shows continued to be filmed in black and white well into the 1960's.
I don't know, is this color or damage!
Here ya go, Walt:

In the area i grew up in we had 3 channels 2 ,11 & 13 if you had an antenna with a rotor you could get channel 5 in D.C. about 35 miles SW of me.... what I dont get we now have 10 hbo and god knows how many others....and there's nothing on TV! BTW channel had the 3 stooges on every day.... thats when we went to Danny's house his dad had an antenna.

My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
The world is a carousel of color,
History, comedy, fantasy,
There's drama and mirth,
There's old mother earth
With all of her secrets to see.
The world is a treasure-trove of faces,
Fabulous, faraway places.
The hopes and the fears,
The joys and the tears
Of people like you and like me.
The kingdoms of magic science,
The glorious story of art,
The world of romance,
Of music and dance,
This world where we each play a part.
The miracle of imagination,
The marvels of earth, sea and sky,
These wonders untold
Are ours to behold
In the funny world,
The sunny world,
The wonderful world of color.
