It looks like die deterioration, not a doubled die.
Current dies are made with a single squeeze process. While it's still possible to have doubling (class IX), it usually shows up on the center elements)

Hard to tell what is reflection and what is 'doubling' in those blurry pictures.....I do not see any sign of tripling...again, it could be the pictures...Need clear photo's. Cheers, RickO
