Just ran across this interesting piece!
I wonder if @FredWeinberg was the authenticator for this.

Do you have a guess on value?
Is it a rare date?

Absolutely... Wanna know the date? 3981B.C.!
That's unfortunate, I don't collect moderns.

The oldest coin still existing is from 600 BC, so there's nothing to collect from before 3981 BC!

I'll check, there might be some rolls for sale.
Does the label say it was waxing or waning?

You're right... I'm almost interested.
Meh.
Rare but uninteresting to me personally.

Now if that was struck with mint dies, I would be all over it.
I only buy coins. I do not do blanks no matter how rare they are.
Ahhhh, someone found the missing piece. . .
It looks like Cookie Monster got to this planchet at some point. Errors are fun!

My guess is that the slabbing fees were greater than the value of the error itself. Clipped blank planchets don't have a wide following.
It's a pretty neat looking piece. Triple clipped, in good locations.
Here it is with the slab:
I find it interesting - more so since it has been slabbed.... However, not something I would purchase. Cheers, RickO
How was PCGS able fo assigned a grade of MS62 on this?
I'm baffled.
