Always best to search through your families belongings before selling them off to someone else and especially the government.

This ties nicely into the prior discussion of the revaluation of the French Franc in 1960. French who were adults at that time (now 80 +) really did stash gold in their mattresses -- or in this case, their jelly jars. However, as trust for banks improved, so did the French economy.
It is discoveries like this that keep the treasure hunter instinct strong.... We know our find is out there, somewhere....

I was at an estate auction not too long ago. Saw a mason jar full of silver dimes parked in an old tool box. Probably $1000 worth of silver And I could of got it for $27 bucks. I alerted the auctioneer because the ole conscious got in the way. Oh well the closest to treasure I ever get. lol
