NHL Hockey Player Collects Carson City Coins

airplanenutairplanenut Posts: 21,910 ✭✭✭✭✭

Well, I don't know for sure, but if his name is any indication... (yes, it's pronounced just like the mint mark)

Here is his scoring against a different city with a mint

Cool. Here is a Hockey Player from the Silver State - all in Legos- as on display currently just up from the Casino once owned by Silver Dollar hoard originator, Binion.

Here is a hint as to which Casino on Fremont Street is featuring the Lego creations:

And a few more there on display:

I would not have the patience to do Lego creations... nor the interest. I am glad there are those who enjoy these creations.... I would, however, recommend coin collecting to those same people... ;) Cheers, RickO

Had me going @airplanenut when I saw the title. Still, always great to see anything NHL, and mixed in with coin talk! I'm a lifelong Blues fan (born in October 1967 in STL the same month the team played its first game in the league).

Canada has actually issued some hockey related coins (including Gretzky pieces). Not sure if there are others out there but it would be interesting to see more.

I got a set of Lincoln Logs when I was a lad, left them laying about the floor and gram stepped on one. Next thing I knew they were heating the house via the fireplace in our living room!

MEMORIES! I loved my Lincoln Logs. One day, when I was 4 or 5 years old my Grandma was leaning against the wall holding her chest. She said, "Pick those things up! (the Lincoln Logs) They can give an old person A heart attack." It's a memory I'll keep always. I loved her. Pioneer woman. Great grand daughter of a Couer de Bois. French Canadian girl born in California. They were the first. Brave people. And.....WHAT A SENSE OF HUMOR! Always singing......Home, Home On The Range! Where the deer and the antelope roam........

I had an erector set, too, which was another old-school, building toy set.

The little Hydrants love Legos. Have you ever stepped on one? Barefooted? While stumbling through dark on the way to the relief station? At 3 in the morning? I have. A bazillion times. It's painful.

By the time I was little, Lincoln Logs were already plastic. :(

I've been a Caps fan since the mid 80's.
Not a very good likeness, lol.

I had those also. Anyone ever have the Fred Flintstone styrofoam building blocks? You could build a pretty good sized fort with them. They went over well until they started sheading bits of styrofoam all over the house!

Nope. With where the arena is, there's no good public transportation for me and parking is a nightmare and a fortune. And wherever I live, my allegiance as a die-hard Devils fan won't change. I'm fine with the Kraken being my #2 team and will try to go to a few games, but I'm not forking over the money needed to go to all of them.

Interesting. I never knew Lincoln Logs had ever been made out of anything other than wood.
