Wilmington Azalea Show report

Small 30 or so dealer show held annually.
Missed Saturday, but dealers said it was boomtown!
Drove about an hour and picked up a few remaining scraps on a limited budget.
$110 deal on a nicely toned capitol holder set that had enough to work with breaking up and grading. Included was another set from the 1960's that had a gorgeous blue nickel and a decently toned cent.
Dropped $95 on some attractive SMS sets and a couple high grade '64 proof sets. Also another toned set at no premium. Overpaid a bit but should brwak even. Might have a cameo Kennedy.
While heading out the door blew my last $70 on some four PCGS slabbed common date Lincoln cents ranging from MS64 to MS66. For my Lincoln grading set so I placed no real value other than educational.
Spent $5 on a raffle. I have had good luck with door prizes at NC shows

Thanks for the update on the show and congratulations on your purchases.

Kennedys are my quest...
Thanks for the update. I've gone to that show several times - even set up there one year to thin my collection.
I had hoped to attend, but a family birthday got in the way.
I note that they have chairs!

My digital cameo album 1950-64 Cameos - take a look!
A few older gentlemen I recognized from past shows.
Were grateful they had made it into 2021 in good health.
Mickey, a dealer I see at each show, no matter the state.... said he does 26 shows on average per year. Covid limited him to about 5 last year.
I think there is a show coming up in Columbia next month.
Too bad my wife could not have delayed her GA trip a week.
I bet Dalton will be a Boomtown as well!

Far too many maskless people at that show. I would have taken one look inside and left without entering.
It did not seem quite so bad, but the pic doesn't lie.
I debated... but having gotten my second dose, double masked, and was out in an hour. I was conscious to find some distance.
A couple dealers joked as they masked up approaching the display case.
Yesterday, my wife went home for a visit. Met family at a Bass Pro or similar for the exchange. It was quite a shock at the few people wearing masks in Augusta.
My niece said nobody wore a mask in GA
Dalton mask count will be interesting.
Myrtle Beach is under ordinance and it's probably 90% compliance.

The FL dealers I talked to at the Melbourne show today are planning on it.
It's generally a very good show anyway, from all I've heard. This year I imagine
with all the pent up demand and higher PM prices, it will be gangbusters.
Thanks for the report... Any AH Kennedy's in those '64 proof sets?? No comment on masks. Cheers, RickO
No... they were sealed. Figured for the price WTH.
