Just won this for $40 with shipping.

I'm new to buying coins and I did research ebay about this coin but the numbers were scattered everywhere. Please let me know if I overpaid or not. Thanks!!

If you are happy with it that's all that matters. Looks like a deal to me.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
I think I got a good deal for it too so I'm happy.
One think about the detail on the coin is that its said "first year". I looked in ebay and found no such phrase.
Thanks for your feedback.
nothing wrong with that score
Good deal.
I think first year is in relation to the .999 silver content of the planchet. Previous to this the mint always used 90% silver, like the pre 1965 coinage.
It's .999 silver and is already in a major brand slab so you did well if that is the kind of thing you like.
I just recently paid $22 plus shipping for the same coin raw. I did not buy the proof set from the mint that year so there was a hole in my Kennedy date set. The price didn't bother me a bit. Considering the money that someone paid to have your coin graded and slabbed I'd say you did very well.....AND it's MS70 ultra cameo!!!!
I do like it and does these coins go up in value, like say 5 years from now?
This is one of the many investment I'm doing for my kids.
Thank you so much for the info.
I don’t think investing your money in coins for your kids is a good idea.
I pretty much do silver only unless it's a special edition:

Oh wow. Can I ask why? So coins are not for investments?
Unless silver skyrockets it will most likely prove to be a poor "investment.
There is enough historical pricing information online to evaluate how coins, in general, have performed as investments over the past 40 years. Don't let the spectacular gains of a few ultra rare coins or novelty issues blind you. And for goodness sake, don't listen to the TV coin sales pitches.
Enjoy the hobby and if you can sell your coins later without a loss, it's a bonus.
See http://www.doubledimes.com for a free online reference for US twenty-cent pieces
If anyone wants one that is PCGS graded (for the same cost) here are a couple:

Generally speaking, most coins do not appreciate more than the stock market. Most coins haven't even kept up with inflation over the past 20 years. Modern coins like that Kennedy have generally not kept up with their issue price.
So, I would not consider coins as a good investment vehicle. This is especially true if you don't have large amounts of money. $50 coins do not go up. And it is very hard to "diversify" your coin portfolio unless you can buy a large number of coins.
I would also suggest that "investing" requires diversification which probably means needing to buy coins you don't even like just to maximize diversification.
Proof silver is always great 😊
I actually forgot that the Halfs and Qtrs went to .999 silver in 2019.

There’s a lot more to be said about certain types of coins like high grade moderns, but, with all due respect, I would say it’s generally poor investing strategy to buy something as an investment, ask if it’s a good buy, and then ask why it may not be a good investment. With lots of research and learning you may find coins that are likely to do better in the long terms, but simply buying a coin and hoping for the best is not a recommended strategy.
Ask not what this slab can do for you but ask what you can do for this slab,,,,,,,,,,
This is a PF69 for the same price of his PF70. Seems like he got a pretty decent deal
Generally speaking, the OP got a fair deal in the purchase of that coin. Slabbed, PF70, UC....As far as investment, not so much. Coins are not a good investment generally. Cheers, RickO
Nice coin for a good price!
Not to say you cannot build a nice collection that keeps pace with inflation or the stock market.
However unlikely those prospects, I would stick to traditional savings and investments
This investment topic has been covered many times.
Essentially, even the best of the best who make a living from the coin business say they are lucky to make 10%. That is with all the advantages of connections, sources for coins at cheaper prices... etc
Still a great opportunity to enjoy coins, and the fun of collecting with your kids!
Send them to ANA summer camp courses and learn to grade coins.
Give them a monthly budget.
Buy the kids a Cherrypickers guide and let them look for varieties on Ebay, teach them the economics buying and selling coins on Ebay etc...
Would be a great life lesson.

PF70 UC is top pop unless they can put a * or a +?? CAC would probably like it?? So $40 shouldn't be too bad unless there are 1,000s of them all tied at top pop. Who can check? The problem with Proofs is that they should all be PF70 but they aren't plus they aren't all UC. So, it should be a fair buy at $40 especially if you like it.
You did good.
CAC does not do moderns.
There are many thousands of these tied for top pops.
How much was the proof set ? Over 50 bucks I guess. That’s the main coin. How much was the slab ? My guess in bulk probably 10 bucks. How can 40 bucks be too much ?
Could I please have my avatar back?
