2012 penny on nickel size planchet

Found this coin roll hunting for nickels. 2012 penny weighs 2.50g but is the size and color of a nickel. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

The coin has been altered. Sometimes called a Texas cent, can be done by pounding between two pieces of leather or wood, or by heat.
