The Ohio farmhouse I grew up in just gave up a mercury!

For some reason I’ve had the worst luck with Mercury dimes! 15 years of metal detecting and this is only my second.

(i’m not counting the find at the bottom of a closet)

This was in the backyard near where an old corn crib used to be. My family has owned the farm since 1952. This would pre-date even them.

I've found about 200 Mercury dimes. Yours would be among the top 5 or 6 I've ever dug. That's fantastic condition for an early Mercury dime.

Great condition for a 100 year old dime....Silver is always good... Looks so clean coming out of the dirt. Cheers, RickO

I found one about 10 years ago in same shape and same year 1920. I first saw the reverse detail and figured it would be in the 1940s for sure, and was surprised at the date. They I got depressed, if only it had been one year newer!

A 1921 in the shape of the 1920 I found would have been worth about $1k I figured ...could have bought a new machine or two.
