True story about the Baby Ruth candy bar. The CEO of the Mars company knew little about baseball, but he knew a lot about competing with Milton Hershey's company. His high ranking employers were listening to a ball game and he said what's all the excitement about. They told him Babe Ruth was up. After a little discussion, the CEO knew his next candy bar to compete with Hershey was going to be called the Baby Ruth. He didn't even ask Ruth for his permission. It became the hottest candy bar on the market. Babe Ruth sued the CEO for using his name, and the CEO counter sued Ruth and won in court claiming that it was named after a Presidents grand daughter who was sick, even though he knew full well he named it after the Babe.

@Goldenage, That is very interesting, I love the Baby Ruth candy bars, and I've always wondered if it had any ties to Babe Ruth.

There is an American basketball player from the 70s from the Chicago Bulls who probably has at least a thousand songs with his last name in it.

That is the story I heard also. I had that album, I love REM! My favorite REM songs are "Losing My Religion" and "This one goes out to the one I love."

    Space Odyssey- David Bowie.

Clearly Bowie was prophesizing about Tom Brady in the lyrics.

    "Ground control to Major Tom.
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on."

    "You've really made the grade,
and the papers want to know whose shirt you wear."

    Big John - Jimmy Dean

    Big John Mayberry.

Through the dust and the smoke of this man-made hell
Walked a giant of a man that the miners knew well
Grabbed the saggin' timber and gave out with a groan
And like a giant oak tree, just stood there alone, Big John
