I can't be in the conversation since I didn't even know what an NFT was and bitcoin?

I'm still trying to understand, "mining" and other terms like blockchain.

I heard this AM on the biz channel that the amount of energy used "just" to mine for bitcoin in the world rivals that used of some countries like Argentina (that's their entire energy usage)?

    What? Wait. What?!

yes, which kinda made me go "huh?" when elon musk invested. but yes, the amount of energy used to "record, transfer & store the transaction" digitally is outrageous. however the counter point is, esp w musk in the pic, how quick technology advances these days and existing technology not yet used for mining (solar) that all that can be changed rather quickly.

why i posed the question above. investing in actual nfts or the mining companies, publicly traded stocks. i would choose the latter.

Just be careful; there’s lots of evidence to suggest that Elon Musk is much more like John DeLorean than he is Nikola Tesla.

    😉

i don't mind that to a degree. there's a reason the govt wanted larry flynt silent.

and let's not kid ourselves. delorean built a car that resembled a spaceship. musk built a car and a spaceship. and tesla was kinda of shyster, not that edison was a saint.

    musk collects, btw.

I don’t want to impugn Mr. Musk in any way so I’ll just let it go; interesting guy for sure. If he’s a customer of yours, pass on that he can have my Propagandas set for a $2 million and you can have 10%.

    😂

Tesla was a genius, Edison was a businessman. One innovated and one made money. A very select few can do both but they’re few and far between - and both were completely betrayed by their financial backers...

impugn away. not really a fan or a critic. and he's not a customer nor a supplier. i'm pretty impartial. if anything, i was really saying delorean wasn't necessarily the bad guy he was portrayed to be. completely set up because he too was betrayed by his financial backers. tesla was a genius, but did some questionable dealing when he ran outta money after the edison smear campaign.

Boy, this is way above my pay grade.

Just to say I saw this. Panini did get into the "concept" I would guess?

yes, i "own" a few. but not from buying them directly. they were inserts in packs/boxes.

i get a crazy amount of offers on them daily. and the offers are pretty strong.

considering technically they didn't cost me money, but i turned down $2500 the other day for one. kinda felt crazy for doing it, but i'm in it for the long haul. my way of having skin in the game w no skin.

Not sure if you've heard, but virtual real estate is going up in price.

Kids spend a lot of time in virtual reality in games like fortnite, etc.

Where they spend a lot of their time, there is advertising that is sold by companies.

Kids spend so much time online and see this advertising, that advertising costs have risen over time.

This "real estate" space is rising in costs too. The actual real estate is where the kids spend most of their time online.

It is bought and sold, and is all virtual, or online gaming.

    Times are changing.

Yes, but it’s not something limited to Top Shot. All digital trading platforms are required to have a KYC (know your customer) verification to combat money laundering etc in order to transfer money out.
