Wow... that is a major PM shipment.... Hope it was adequately insured - which is poor compensation for the loss. Cheers, RickO

With that kind of large gold involved I’m pretty sure registered mail would be in order. Just a thought.

I’m sorry for your loss. I hate thieves with a passion.

Not mine; just reprinting Doug Davis' broadcast in hopes that if these coins show up in a shop they will get noticed as hot.

Private insurer might have required FEDEX.

Wow, you seem to have bad luck with all the carriers. I'd suspect someone local must know what you are shipping. Perhaps time to start transacting only in person? Or at least change your shipping locations. Hope you recover it.

I'm just broadcasting Doug Davis' information on missing/stolen parcels in the hope that potential buyers will report hot items to law enforcement.

12 posts to the thread and three of them are you explaining you are just sharing the theft info. Perfect example of someone knowing everything about the thread with out even reading it.

Very disheartening to read about these thefts, especially from Fed-X since I always thought they were one of the most secure freight carriers. That said I recently read about a shipment of gold bars. It was a large shipment and the thieves only stole four bars out of the shipment. Why four I don't know. Did they think no one would miss "just" four?

The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

Those are simply by way of clarification; I guess I could have ignored the misunderstanding. I thought it was clear that Doug Davis of NCIC was sending out the broadcasts, a few thought it might be the same person getting robbed which would defy logic.

It would be good to have a lost/stolen coin forum section to crosscheck for pawn shops and dealer shops, etc..

Logger, I think derryb's comment was his way of 'rolling his eyes' at your need to repeatedly clarify... he's poking some fun at the guys that don't read the whole thing.
