First Things First

The Definition: NIFC. Not Intended For Circulation
Hi guys, as many of you know, I've been chasing a TON of Half Dollars, by CRH. Coin Roll Hunting. Too much to count in the past 2 months. Well in all those Bank Boxes and Rolls. It 's been very stingy. Esp. hunting down any Silver Halves. Maybe two? However, I found out that silver, isn't the only treasure to be found. Besides any Franklin's, Walkers and varieties. There's a new sheriff in town. He's called, NIFC. Lol. Yes, these gems are actually worth more than a silver half. The low mintage, uncirculated and some can even be PL, sez it all. I've been pretty lucky in this game.
Here is my scoreboard of all these, as well as, the mintage numbers. Do you guys collect these too? :)
2004d= 1/ MTG.= 2,900,000
2008P= 1/ MTG.= 1,700,000
2010d= 2/ MTG. = 1,800,000
2011p= 1/ MTG. = 1,700,000
2011d= 2/ MTG. = 1,750,000
2014p= 2/ MTG. = 2,500,000
2014d= 5/ MTG. = 2,100,000
2015p= 10/ MTG. = 2,300,000
2015d= 12/ MTG. = 2,300,000
2017p= 1/ MTG. = 1,800,000
2019p= 1/ MTG. = 1,700,000
2019d= 4/ MTG. = 1,700,000

Total - 42 NIFC's

    When I was heavily CRH'ing halves from 2009-2013 (roughly 8 boxes/week) I thought it was cool initially and I saved the best P and D example for roughly the years 2002-2010. Beyond that I just chucked them back with all the rejects. For me, CRH'ing halves was all about the 40% and 90%.

    It is interesting that you are finding that many NIFC halves. Are they being dumped back into circulation by heirs or just by original owners who needed some quick cash?

    I've been doing a pretty brisk buisness on eBay selling complete 2002 to 2020 PD sets pulled from bank boxes. For a few extra dollars I throw in 1987 P&D. Every once in a while, I'll have to purchase the odd date roll to keep them complete, but 95% are acquired at face value.

    Yes, I know. I'm finding all these at one specific bank, a Chase. Both times I went there, both times I succeeded. I would buy a bunch there, but my cash flow really won't allow me at the time. Not an official client. Next visit, will be different. Lol. Yeah, I'm thinking someone dumped all these at this particular bank, for various reasons. In which, I'm not really caring about. Could be what astrorat said? :*

    Good Sunday Morning :)

    A word worth mentioning;
    There is one year I keep finding, 2013p and d, when I come across these, I toss them back. Too high of a mintage to hold. In my opinion? nearly 5,000,000. The ones to find are the ones with the Lowest Mintage, 1,700,000. That is 300,000 less then these recent "W" Quarters. Which are very popular right now, with the mintage of 2,000,000. As you can see, I did find a few of these main target NIFC's. All the 1,700,000's. The 2008's, 2010p's, 2011p's, 2012p's (These 2012p's are eluding me), and the 2019's are the keys for success in this part of the CRH game. One more early year. the 1987p and d's, are also in the NIFC family. A low 2,890,758. In which I haven't tracked down. YET? Lol. ;)

    The Highest minted= 1971d. 302,097,424

    The lowest minted= 1998 silver Matte Finish. 64,141 An AMAZING Figure!

    All these listed years are on the Wikipedia For Kennedy Mintage's. Check it out.

    Hi and Welcome To The Forum. Wow, good for you dude. Finding those for face. In which, as I am also. Lol. One day, these certain dates will be hard to come by, as well as, the W's in the Quarter Series. Have Patience. :)

    Just noticed on the bay. Not really liked, huh? Nearly going for less than 2x value? What? These are so few minted. Some less than 2,000,000? I guess, only good if high in demand, no matter what mintage? Strange hobby sometimes. :*
    This reminds me of the 1997p Matte finish Jefferson. Only 25,000 and attainable for about $100 or less. And that's the whole Botanical gardens Set.

    I would assume that most of them are from people who buy bags, sift for the highest grades, and spend the rest. Who needs 498 MS63 2013-p Kennedys?

    These that I'm finding, are very HIGH grades! Some are probably ms 66 and ms 67's. I'm throwing all the 2013's back. Too high of a mintage. Close to 5,000,000. Even the high grade 13's, I'm tossing. ;)

    So I have about $100 of nice (no ring of death) Kennedy Half NIFC's from 2002-2018p&d. Not too sure of the exact count of each but if you need a certain one I'm sure I have it or I'll find it soon enough.

    For the love of all that is holy does anyone want them. I have no idea why I am still pulling them out while I'm looking for silver, but I can't not keep them.

    pm me if you want any or all of them.
