RichRRichR Posts: 3,884 ✭✭✭✭✭

New Offerings:
American Eagle 2021 One Ounce Silver Proof Coin (W); 21EAN
American Eagle 2021 One Ounce Silver Proof Coin (S); 21EMN
American Eagle 2021 One Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin (W); 21EGN
American Eagle 2021 Silver Reverse Proof Two-Coin Set (S&W); 21XJ

So 5 Silver Eagles in 2021 with the revised design...is that right?

    Yes.

    Excerpt from link:
"In 2020, the United States Mint unveiled the new reverse designs for the 2021 American Eagle Silver coins. 2021 marks the 35th Anniversary of the American Eagle Coin program, and the new designs will begin appearing on these coins in mid-year 2021."

I sincerely hope they don't put BS artificially low mintage limits on the set. It's just rude and dispiriting to the collecting community.

I will pick up the new W ASE when available... well, will at least try to pick one up... :D Likely crash the Mint site when it goes live. Cheers, RickO

The mint director should get his apology letter composed for the summer Eagle offerings. He is likely going to need it.

Currently four 2021 Type I (old reverse) ASEs available with no others planned:

    • W proof (sold out)
    • Bullion coins struck at West Point
    • (P) bullion coins struck at Philly
    • (S) bullion coins struck at San Franny

2021 new reverse (Type II) will be the new look "summer 2021" according to the mint. I'm assuming scheduled releases with a date of "summer 2021" or later will bear the Type II reverse. The following Type II ASEs may or may not be included in more than one purchase option. These include:

    • Bullion coins that continue to be struck at West Point
    • A possible continuation of the (P) and (S) bullion coins once the new reverse is released
    • Another W proof scheduled to be released "summer 2021."
    • The 21XJ S & W reverse proof 2 coin set to be released "summer 2021."
    • An S proof scheduled to be released "summer 2021."
    • W unc. collector coin scheduled to be released "summer 2021." No indication this coin will be issued with Type I reverse.

Assuming coins released "summer 2021" will have the Type II reverse we are seeing a current release of four different Type I ASEs and will see a future release of at least six different Type II ASEs. A continuation of the (P) and/or (S) bullion ASEs will increase the number of different Type II ASEs. By year end we will have at least ten different 2021 ASEs.

All we need is a silver planchet shortage to throw a monkey wrench (and some low mintages) into the ASE game plan. Silver is in high demand so it may be wise to buy any/all of these early. It would not be the first time that the US Mint has run out of precious metal. Those of us who remember how lucky (and profitable) we were with 2008 US Mint gold coin purchases know how easily this can happen.

Are the ASE Proofs really sold out ? Type 1's I saw mike Meehan on TV a while back and he was predicting a sellout. But I see plenty of them on EBay. What gives? Moral of the story is always wait for the bulk gradings to show up on EBay.

As far as I know, the Type1, ASE, Proof-W coins were offered in two formats: 21EA and 21RF.

Both are "currently unavailable" at the Mint.
