Tradedollarnut, I've just finished re-reading a great short story by Joseph Conrad. The story is called, "Typhoon." Thought about you the entire time I was reading it. The subtext is about your favorite subject. Spoiler Alert!...... The things people will do over Trade Dollars.
Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Congrats Bruce. Those are really nice coins!
I'm not sure why there's no TrueView for the 1884, but I'm sure you'll get that resolved.
Is that 4 different 1884s now? If you get to 6 you can match Virgil Brand which would be pretty incredible.
I think what Bruce has already done as a collector, is beyond pretty incredible.
It is and I agree, but it could reset the definition of what's possible. Virgil Brand's record is one that one just doesn't think can be beat in the modern era, and Bruce is already half way there.
In looking this over, Bruce has previously owned both of these coins.

Amazing coins! Congrats Bruce

Is it weird that the thing I noticed first about that photo is that they put normal-sized coins in oversized slabs?
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Oh, yea.

Wow, but that is expected with your acquisitions.
Any close up pics on the TD? Nothing on CoinFacts.
Wow.

You should get PCGS to put all of your top coins into a single holder to be together. That would make for an interesting display...

Super nice!
What happened to the trueview for the Trade $?
Nice, but if I shared the stuff what my dreams are made of I'd get banned

Congratulations, and a nice impressive start to your ultra rarities box of 20!
Thanks for sharing. Great coins, absolutely great.

Impressive. Thanks for sharing.
Nice additions to Bruce's collection here in a place of dreams.
Views from yesterday here in Bruce's city where there are already cherry blossoms blooming.
One of them is my dream. I even have pictures of it on my phone, as close as I will ever get to it. But hey, life is made up of dreams.
Funny... I was thinking of the Maltese Falcon as well. That was the first film directed by John Huston and it is terrific.
Nice coins

Thank you Lord for another beautiful day!!!
Cool fricken coins! Even cooler that you continue to share your treasures with us here.
Just curious do you own the 1894-S dime that and the 1913 Nickel are my favorites. But for some reason the dime is the one I like best.

It feels right that you, as tradedollarnut, watch over that coin. Congrats!
Dunno. I’m making it up as I go along. But I know a 94-S is on it, as is the finest 1885 [the raw one]. An UHR too.
Congratulations 🍾

Bruce, fantastic. Superlative. There's something really special about owning the finest known of anything.
The coins are magnificent. The size of the holders diminishes their apparent stature, in my opinion, but that's a pretty minor consideration.
Truly fabulous! It's fantastic that you share your collecting exploits with us here. Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS on your latest moves.

Should someone pinch Bruce and wake him up? Apparently it's a Buffalo 1913 nickel in the awakened state...
Can't wait to see the Box of 10 done by Bruce setting the new standard. Perhaps box of 20s will become passe.
Congratulations Bruce, you really know the "right" coins to buy.
Ever thought about the ultimate hoard (e.g. owning all or as many as possible of 1884/5 TD, 1913 V 5c, 1804 $1, 1894-s 10c, etc)?
P.S. Why is there a WLH in the background label for the trade dollar?
good catch
So far for his box of 20:
1) 1794 PCGS SP66 $1 CAC
2) 1804 PCGS PF65 Class I Dexter $1
3) 1913 PCGS PF66 Eliasberg 10c CAC
4) 1884 PCGS PF66 CAM $1
Based on prices realized or published private treaty sales that's already about $20 million in cost and we're only at slot 4 of 20.
