What's in your pocket?

I imagine that many of us carry pocket pieces. I have carried a 1971 P Ike and a Teddy Roosevelt Inaugural medal for a number of years now (probably about 5). Both started off in mint state (the Ike was about MS63 and the medal was fresh from the cellophane) . Sometimes they are joined by a Denver Mint medal. They have shared my pocket with change, car keys, pens, etc. and show the wear. My goal is to see how long it takes to get that Ike smooth.

So... what's in your pocket?

My pocket pieces:

Successful B/S/T transactions: As Seller: PascoWA (June 2008); MsMorrisine (April 2009); ECHOES (July 2009) As Buyer: bfjohnson (July 2008); robkool (Dec 2010); itsnotjustme (Dec 2010) TwoSides2aCoin (Dec 2018) PrivateCoin Jan 2019

I’ve been carrying these 3 off and on for over a decade. I lost each of them several times and found them again during that period. Lately they go in my left front pocket along with my cell phone and everything else goes in the right pocket. I haven’t lost them since I started using the left pocket.

Keys, Wallet, + Cellphone! I can't remember the last time I had a coin in my pocket! Hmmmm a few years ago I had 1 in each pocket of my sweaty jeans I was wearing while bush hogging my pasture trying to wear away a light cleaning!

A half ounce Liberty Lobby Andrew Jackson silver round that looks pretty much like it did when I started carrying it 5 years ago.

Since covid, just a house key, and when I go out my wallet.

Before covid I'd normally have a Peace dollar in my pocket. Every X years if I ran into someone interested in the coin, who appeared to have potential as a coin collector (YN etc.), I'd talk to them about the dollar... the politics, history, art, silver and gold coinage etc., and then give them the Peace dollar. When I got home I'd put a new(ish) Peace dollar in my pocket.

Once, when I was an accompanying/volunteer parent for a weeklong 4th grade school trip to the CA. gold country, I kept a raw XF45 - AU50 1849 gold eagle in my pocket for the week to show to the kids.

    I like the Ike.
I'm surprised it has worn that much in 5 years.

    The GW $1 I've carried since 2007.
    It is getting heavily worn.
The 2007 Washington quarter is also showing significant wear but copper-nickel wears very slowly.
I used to carry a 2000-D Sac $ that was BU but worn down to AG03ish (?).
I finally received an offer on that coin that I couldn't turn down.

The only coins in my pocket (right hand side) are change for/from shopping. In the left hand pocket I have this. Cheers, RickO
