What is going on with this three cent? is this an error?

This coin is MS but appears to have a deformed rim and then a crack in the observe from this deformation.
Would this be considered an error or would this be a sign of a counterfeit (Cast pour)? More experienced members I am curiosu to learn and understand whats going on.

It’s hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like it might be some sort of planchet defect like what is called a lamination

The pictures are too blurry to determine authenticity.... It could be a planchet defect as @Mr_Spud said ... just too difficult to see details. I would pass on that one. Cheers, RickO

I think the sellers description being "extremely high grade" is somewhat optimistic, to say the least. :o

1865 MS is a common issue, and the coin is obviously damaged. Ridiculous description.

to make the 500 min on one side, you do not enlarge 500%

    could be a planchet error

The photo is awful, but it looks like a cracked planchet to me. I wouldn't call the coin extremely high grade given it's circulated, but the most off thing about that listing is the description. The coin looks fine to me... for what I can see of it.
