USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
My true passion. R. Atkinson Fox 1866-1935. I own 21 original oils and have my eye on another as we speak. Very famous in the ‘20’s and will become one of America’s favorite again. The art world is very fickle.
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
I've been big in the aquarium thing too, but I got too close to the sun and burned out on it a bit. At one point I was the admin of a planted aquarium forum, doing a small column for Tropical Fish Hobbyist, buying and selling rare aquatic plants, and breeding new-to-the-hobby West African Dwarf Cichlids.
I'll come back to it someday. The tanks are still set up, but they're only a dim shadow of what they used to be.
More recently I've gotten into woodworking, jewelry boxes and a bit of furniture.

I have a sideline collection of Union Castle Line maritime memorabilia. It operated under contract to transport mail between Britain and South Africa until going out of business in 1977. My family were passengers on the RMS Windsor Castle when we left South Africa on November 6, 1974.
Hiking, antiques
I love to fix up old vehicles anywhere from decent drivers (1989 k5 blazer) to classics. I did a frame off restoration of a 68 gto ragtop in my garage and now building a 62 Pontiac Catalina ragtop I put a fuel injected motor in.
Hiking, swimming, dinosaur digging in the Badlands, travel

I have too many hobbies to list, like many people on this forum!
Besides coins, I like a good marble now and then. I probably have 5,000 of them in my collection. That's like $2,000 worth of marbles.
I play the cello, and I am quite dedicated to it. Pandemic times make for solo practice at home, and not much else.
I'll take on the entire forum in a poker tournament.... as long as the entry fee is $5 or less. I'm not much of a gambler!
Astrophotography has been a godsend during the pandemic.... outer space is the ultimate social distancing.
Terrestrial photography is fun, too, but it's less fun than it was when I lived in the southwest.
Guitar, singing/songwriting. Drawing/shooting
Model railroading, I have been working on this layout since April 2020

I'm sitting here looking at the forum right now with 2 year old Hydrantette Jenny by my side. She saw the above picture and said, " Papa! Look! A gun. I like it!" My kind of girl....... We do our best the raise them right here on ranch.
Repairing old tube radios and electronic equipment with tubes.
Gambling at casinos.
Wine
Whiskey
Orchids ( don't judge me)
Yoga
Peloton
Gardening

This just rolled in today. The oldest aged Canadian whiskey I've come across.
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Golf, golf, golf
Dealing in Canadian and American coins and historical medals.
Pretty mundane, actually. Stamps, currency, novelty playing cards such as those issued in conjunction with expos and fairs, and portraying military caricatures, Pan American items, constantly updating my book on Buff 5c abraded dies among other things.
Do grandkids count. If I knew how much fun they were, I'd have had them first. Handgunner, shooting & reloading, Rappelling ( I teach rope rescue ) swiftwater rescue ( which I also teach ) Also nuisance control trapping and furbearer trapping. Controversial but not going to debate it here. The science supports it. Nuff said.
Not sure what "Active" means, but I spend most of my time:
Fossil hunting-Texas
Artifacts
Baseball autographs
Basketball autographs
1933 NY Giants

I’ve been playing keyboards since 1986. Played by ear until the early 90s and took music theory classes to learn the language of music. Also took up guitar about 5 years ago but I’m not as proficient on it as I am on the keys.
I’ve also been studying up on old vinyl. My father has been collecting records since he was 17 years old and I’ve already been asked to become the caretaker of his collection when he is gone. I’m honored to do it.
Running, hiking, skiing, paddling, fly fishing & fly tying, five-string banjo, gardening.
These days it’s flying my paragliders and sport touring motorcycle trips.
Restoring vintage Matchbox cars.
Playing/writing music.
