A Unique 75th Western Reserve Numismatic Club Counter stamp Die Trial Piece

The auction stated.......
_Gallery Mint Museum GMM w/ Misc. Die Trial Strikings. Irregular diameter due to counterstamps, approximately 40.5mm (1.6 inch) diameter. This is a blank planchet for the GMM commemorative of the First U.S. Silver Dollar. The edge is lettered: **BICENTENNIAL OF THE FIRST U.S. SILVER DOLLAR. ** Struck many times with the obverse and reverse dies for the 75th Anniversary of the Western Reserve Numismatic Club (WRNC, located in Cleveland, OH and founded in 1921) several reverse dies for GMM copies of a U.S. large cent. Finally, three impressions of an RL (possibly Ron Landis) die. This piece if from the collection of the late Rich Wroblewski, who was president of WRNC at the time of the 75th anniversary counterstamps (1996). Mr. Wroblewski handled the complete process of obtaining the counterstamps for the club_
.
I verified this with Ron and he said it’s his and he did do it for him. As far as he can remember there is not another.
He said it was done long ago and he can’t 100% say for sure but felt it was it.
.
Even if there were a few more I would still be in love with it because as some know here, I’m from Cleveland
And this numismatic club means a lot to me.
I hope some of you enjoy my new pickup and thanks for letting me share what’s has some importance to me.
And, posted on this thread
.
This further ties into my 1971 Western Reserve medal. And, I was able to pick up a 1964 Cleveland ANA Medal set.
.
I dare say I couldn’t be any happier and below is what this post is about.

if you have the ability, go into manual focus mode. only focus on the lettering. shoot the coin in another shot. should clear you right up.
what exactly is your Cleveland connection?? I'm a born and raised NEOhioan, living here still.
.
.
You must have forgotten but years ago, maybe one or two years after I joined I bought 2 SCDs
from you. I saw you were nearby and told you I’m going back to Cleveland where I grew up during that summer. You never replied to my pm so I flew back with my mom. She attended her 50th. Reunion for
Charity hospital.
.
I wasn’t back since 78 when we left. We lived in Orange Village. Went to grade school in Warnsvile Heights and Lumen high school in Bedford.

Well that sums it up unless you want to click on the link in my original thread at top and you can read more.

Thanks Lance, I think the lens from flashlight is the problem. Otherwise the lettering

would be flat. Like this example.

@coinsarefun... Hi Stef, that piece in the OP is certainly unique. I mentioned in the other thread that you can get various size reflectors... and quality of the reflector counts as well. I have never tried to image like that... beyond my basic skills...
Cheers, RickO
well, I vaguely remember selling you a SC$ of two but past that have no memory of our interaction. I can say in hindsight that I regret not replying and possibly meeting, though the chances of that are probably remote. judging the timeline I believe that was a pretty low point in my life, shortly after the Real Estate/Banking crisis where it was all I could do just to keep my head above water. we lost quite a bit and I had to sell some of the best holdings I had at the time. on the bright side, my and Casey have come out the other side stronger and more committed, she's my hero right now as she sees me through a health crisis.
sorry to have lost that contact opportunity, I'll pay closer attention. keep the Gallery Mint medals coming and hope for the ANA to realize, once again, what a great coin town Cleveland is. we need the Convention to fins a way back here with some connection to WRNC.
