I think those are cool. I probably wouldn't buy one at the current price (with where I am in my collecting), but I've got an aunt that collects Coke stuff and she would probably think it was awesome.
It's my favorite coin of the last decade. I LOVE the coke bottle caps. I actually bought 2 of the silver ones when they came out that I have kept in my collection. Makes me smile EVERY TIME I look at them.
I too have the Coke bottle caps, both in NGC holders, one red, one black.
If I completed my half dime set I'd definitely spend the money for the gold one. I am really not one for this sort of stuff but these are too cool!
This is another of the very few dark side oddball pieces I have. It's really tiny but I just love it and keep in mind it's actually NUMISMATICALLY relevant being known as a sand DOLLAR!
2017 Palau Sand Dollar. 1 gram gold. I have 2 in PCGS holders.

Based on what they're selling for, a lot of other people agree.
You can still get the raw Coke ones pretty cheaply. Around $40 on eBay, I think. "Purists" hate them because they "aren't coins". But I've gotten more fun out of that dang Coke bottle cap coin than pretty much anything I've bought in years.
I wish the Mint (worldwide) coins were a bit cheaper. But there is a lot of fun content out there. I posted the Tooth Fairy coin the other day which I think is brilliant. There's all kinds of cartoon/children's characters out there. There's all the Disney stuff out there. Fun. Fun for kids. Fun for adults.
Forget giving your grandkid a 3 cent piece and a history lesson. Give them Luke Skywalker or Bugs Bunny or Peter Rabbit or one of the Disney princesses. Then you might actually hook them. Or not.

That's not bad. I was looking at the slabbed ones, and $80-$100 is a bit more than I'd like to spend on one.

Well, this is the PCGS US coin forum after all, so that's not too surprising. A fair number of people here are not fond of regular US coins either, unless they're encased in plastic.

monnaie de paris is preselling this harry potter owl - this one's a whopping 22g, aka: nearly 4 bottle caps worth of silver 😉

Cute!!
These are also fun and affordable and, I think, great coin gifts for kids.

Is it really any different or worse than this?

well, there were only 250 minted
I prefer the red caps
They just beat Canada to it. Gimmick to charge more for bullion.
It's a bottle cap shaped coin- why not?

I hate to say it....but that's cool.....thanks Weiss.
I think they're interesting, just not $80 for a silver one interesting. If they were more like $30-40, I'd seriously consider it.
Right? So over the top but with the red slab insert and everything? Solid silver bottle cap? How outrageous and bizarre is that!
And the packaging was funny and interesting, too:
--Severian the Lame
I have that one but in a PCGS slab like this one-

What is next??
Made in China fakes of it?
why not??
I like these for some reason. If I had eBay Bucks I had to spend I'd seriously consider it.

I have the red coke cola myself. I like it. There's a fanta out there as well

Only six grams of silver? They could at least have made it an ounce....Cheers, RickO
apparently coins come in all shapes and sizes
The price of gold is set by faith, or lack of, in the currency it is priced in.

For the record, they are cute. I like them!

There's also a Sprite one, I believe.
Coins should be fun! These are fun. I don't care that they are NCLT. So is almost everything the Mint sells on its website.

Looks like they will slab anything. I think I will send in my 1965 clamming license and my 1963 dog license.
