Hi guys, finally bought something other than coins from the bank. Lol As you can see, do you guy's think it is maybe a DDO? Esp. The Motto. I do know ,pictures are difficult to distinguish. Esp. Mine. Lol. Picked up for $20. Also, the reverse. Maybe, the "hand engraved" tail feathered variety too? Both are wishful thinking. Thanks again guy's. :) I need my scope.

    Hey Joey,
No I do not see a DDO. This area of the die "IGWT" is very prone to die abrasion.
Here is an example to compare to.

Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

That right THERE. You have pictured, the "IN", mine looks very close to yours. I have to show you guys better with my scope when I get home. Thanks. Also, not only the "in", but a few more letters as well. This is the main reason I bought it. I knew my pics were going to be misleading. Lol
Also, the reverse. My coin has the detailed "lines" outlining the feathers too. Can't wait to better my photos for you guys. ;)
I really appreciate all your help and suggestions. You are AWESOME. Love being on this darn forum. :D

The image is of an early die state coin from the Variety Vista files. If yours is from a later state of the dies the hubbings will be harder to see. Pay attention to the date, too. Go to the Variety Vista site to see the other die states.

Ok, thanks. You may be right about a late stage die. Mine is a little difficult to pick up but it is there. My scope will prove that. Lol. Thanks :)

Ok guys, I'm finally home! Here are much better pics from my scope.

    First the Motto and Date

Now, the Possible Engraving? I Enhanced a few pics. Notice the fine Lines everywhere

Die state is very important when it's applied to doubled/tripled/quadrupled dies, almost as important as the grade. Later die state minor mis-hubbings can be very difficult to attribute. I suppose your coin could be a Stage C.

Really hard to decide on that one.... The date does not look doubled.... I see traces on the motto, could be die wear. As far as the tail feathers, your first pictures looked more like the CPG examples... Not so much on the second set. You may have to send this one in for expert review... but be prepared for disappointment. Cheers, RickO

I do not see any split serifs on your DDO, do you? Proofs are struck twice and have more ejection doubling / machine doubling than business, and the mirrored fields show it easier.

Nope on the reengraved tailfeathers. they add stuff to the die so the new stuff is raised on final coin. They did this after most of the tailfeathers were polished off. Here is what it looks like.

Yep, you guy's are correct in your assessments. Thanks. Well, I did claim in my OP that It all was wishful thinking. Lol. And that's what it turned out to be. At least the coin still looks nifty, no? Despite the non variety and fingerprints. :*

The Washington failed. How about this 1973s silver Ike? The motto seems to have doubling and some split serifs? If it is a DDO, I don't see any recognition? Oh no, I do see Variety vista has some. Thanks guy's.

Keep in mind that master die doubling often shows up on Ike dollars and Kennedy halves.

Check the Coinfacts images for 1973-S $1 Silver (Regular Strike) - they all have the obverse doubling:
