Well, they're Silver Rounds, not coins, but I had to get your attention.

I started buying a handful of these Silver Rounds from Limited Mintage, the selling affiliate of The Intaglio Mint. A couple of weeks ago I bought 10 different numismatically themed 2 oz rounds, and the artwork is gorgeous. Last week I bought the six different offerings from their Vintage Horror Series, plus another one they make of The Werewolf. They charge about $6 - $7 per oz. over spot, plus about $8.50 to ship the package. To me, that's a very fair price to pay for these works of art.

My photo skills are poor, so below my photo of these seven rounds are stock photos of two of the rounds. My initial photos had the bright silver rounds too bright to see much detail, so I darkened the light to try to show more detail, so ignore the artificial color you see. The true color is bright silver. These are 39mm each (just a hair larger than a Morgan Dollar), and the 2 oz rounds are about 1/4 inch thick. They are also each offered in 1 oz (as well as 2 oz rounds), still 39mm, but the 1 oz. rounds are thinner. I use 39mm Air-tite holders with black rings, with the 2 oz rounds going into Extra Deep Air-tites.

I house these in their 14" x 7" black leatherette case, a handsome high quality case that cost $32.65. For $10, they custom cut for me the foam insert for seven cutouts of 39mm each. Other quantities of 39mm foam cutouts are standard at no extra charge.

Nice silver rounds.... I have a few silver rounds, picked up because I liked the design - much as your pieces interest you. That was a nice part of coin shows, a large selection (usually) of silver rounds - and one could always find one that was of personal interest. One of my favorites (a bar, not a round) is of Secretariat, the race horse. I purchased that right after I watched his victorious, three triple crown races. What a horse. Cheers, RickO

I actually attended the Belmont Stakes LIVE in 1973 to watch Secretariat win that third Triple Crown race by about 31 lengths, the largest margin of victory EVER in the Belmont Stakes. His winning time of 2:24 STILL STANDS as the fastest time EVER on an American track on dirt for 1-1/2 miles! No horse has ever run that distance that fast on dirt in ANY race, on ANY track in the U.S. - not before, and not since! And it's been almost 50 years!!!!!!

@winesteven .... Yes, that truly was the most exciting race I have ever watched - though it was on television for me. It was not a photo finish type race.. just the amazing speed and length of victory (A champion of champions) that was amazing. Cheers, RickO

Also memorable for me was after Secretariat crossed the finish line, the camera had to pan back to bring the rest of the field into view for the TV audience. The Secretariat movie also had a cameo appearance by the actual owner at the end of the film.

i did not see Secretariat win at Belmont in 1973 but since then have watched any and all films I could get my hands on. .. Simply incredible performance. Like scoring 200 points in a single basketball game!

    Sorry Wilt!
