Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
Yes, several, Primary series used to be South African Union (1923-1960). I gave it up when I could no longer buy coins at my definition of reasonable prices. Prices were inflated by a TPG bubble. I had mostly bought ungraded at cheap prices but later the supply dried up and I wasn't about to pay "full freight" for most graded coins.
Sold most of my collection and primary regret is that I did not dump most of the rest.
There are also a few other series that I intended to buy more from but also abandoned it. Mainly late 17th to mid-18th Spanish silver and Cap & Ray 4R.

I am just going to focus on 8 Reales from Mexico and some 4 Reales as well. And continue my 1 Peso set from 1869 to 1909. I was doing the 1/2 Reales but they are just to small for my taste.
@Abuelo said: @WCC tha Cap and Ray 4R is impossible at any price!
The series is a practical impossibility to complete but it's more common than the one I collect now, in the quality I want to buy. I never had any intent of trying to complete it, only to buy more better quality coins. There are far more higher quality (AU-58 and better) TPG coins than all Bolivia and Peru pillar minors combined. There are also a wider selection of date/MM combinations.
I tend to collect French, Middle-Eastern and Indian, but have to always avoid the temptation of coins from other areas. I did try for a complete bronze set of 1 - 10 centimes from 1795 to 1920, but gave up for now due to the scarcity of some of the early pieces in decent grade - some of the refrappages and branch mints can be hard to obtain.
