Nothing wrong with making money my friend. I made money when I was younger and do it now for the fun involved in wanting to see my Red Sox win. If I was in it for the money I make on the bet I would have bet much higher as I think they have the players to go all the way this year.
You are right about that as the one they have now can't hit or field and they gave up a good left fielder to get him. Why Cora used Hernandes pitching in the 10th inning is another thing that was stupid as he is as wild as a March hair especially with a runner starting at 2nd base. He screwed the pooch on that one.
Just a thought or two in the early going. The Red Sox need to get a couple of players going or look for an early pickup somewhere in the next couple of months . Sale is coming along well but is still a ways away from being ready. Richards needs to get his act together or he will be gone pretty quickly. The left field problem will be solved from within as they have what looks like a great young prospect waiting in the minors. The good news is they are still in 1st place while they sort out the problem areas.
How about Garett Richards tonight?
What a difference! Ten strikeouts and no walks.
Fantastic game all the way.
This could be huge news if he can keep it up going forward especially if we get Sale back for the closing run.
It was a great game! Degrom brought it, but the Sox pulled it out. kind of a moral victory as well that he only struck them out 9 times! such a tough pitcher.
I think early June is a wishful thought but after the all star break is a distinct probability. He is about to start throwing down in Florida.
de Grom pitched one hell of a game for sure but the Sox wanted it more than the Mets did and this is the attitude a winning team has to have going forward.
Pitching was not last nights problem. Shortstop and 3rd base errors and lack of hitting were the problems. Sleep was another facto as no team should have to travel 3/4 of the way across the country after a night game and be expected to play the same day.
Are there any more believers yet or are you still on the fence? The current team is good and will improve once they rid themselves of a couple of deadwood like Codero and Renfro and bring up center fielder Duran. Hernandes looked great pitching last night and maybe he has finally figured it out. If so he will be a lights out pitcher for them. I know you all love the Red Sox so its time to get off that fence as they are for real this year.
Gotta admit, they are certainly surprising me. I only catch snippets of games via the MLB channel, and an occasional game, which I don't watch. The team appears to be posting the numbers needed to continue into Post Season.
Hey Steve, I think I may have heard you when JD hit the second homer yesterday. Enjoy!
@tommyrusty7 This might sound crazy to some, but I'm still having problems getting over Cora. The Red Sox are my team, lifelong fan, and I just feel ashamed. Every time I see his name it bothers me.

I was more excited when I saw Hernandez pitch to close out the game. He has certainly come a long way.

Did you not make any mistakes in your life? I know I sure have and people have not forgotten about them but have forgiven me for them and moved on as life is much to short . He deserves a 2nd chance in baseball like we all have at some point in our lives. This is going to be a great team so just enjoy what we have.

I commented here before and talked about this. I have made mistakes, of course. I fully understand your point. I am not trying to negatively bring down your thread, and if I am I am sorry. I have been following it, enjoying it, and appreciate it.
OK guys, if that is what you got then I will accept that. When you get more excited just feel free to come on board as I will root for them come good or bad as I have always done.

Don't take me wrong. I am rooting for them, as I always do.
I can't believe that there is so little interest in the top team in the major leagues right now. Is it all because of the manager that this is happening or are you just waiting for them to fail so you could say I told you so? Bloom made some great pick ups this off season and you don't like that either. I will be abandoning this thread and just watching and enjoying baseball this season because Bloom and Cora are doing a superb job. Someone else can start a new thread later on when they finally realize that the Red Sox are real.
I have Youtube TV and they dropped NESN this year. I used to watch 90% of all the games. this is the first year since I was 8 or 10 that I haven't seen one game yet this season.
I think I've made my position CRYSTAL clear about Cora and Bloom. Translation...that is my opinion, no more, no less. I will reiterate...I think Cora should have been banned from baseball. As for Bloom, the jury is still out, however, it does appear some of his pickups have shown they are capable ball players. And no, Cora should never have been given a "second chance"...what he formulated and did was cheating. This type of behavior doesn't belong in the "second chance" arena.
That you are obviously upset over lack of additional comments to this thread, and saying you will be deleting the thread because of lack of interest in the Red Sox, is a bit myopic. Why does it bother you so intently that very few are responding here? Are we not entitled to post or not? Most of us do not live and breathe for each and every Red Sox game...in addition to recovering from knee replacement surgery, I have many other interests besides anything the Red Sox do, or don't do, like physical therapy and learning to walk again...not to mention planning future trips and enjoying life, NONE of which involve, or are in any way remotely associated with the ebb and flow of the Red Sox team, nor its management. Like ZERO.
I'm quite disappointed in your rather harsh display of "if you ain't gonna post, I'm gonna delete the thread". Not sure what that will gain.
So, that's my 2 cents on the subject. If anyone wanted to post, they would, obviously they don't. That it upsets you so, is very strange to me. You infer that we're waiting for the team to fail so we can say "I told you so"...trust me, it doesn't change my life one scintilla whether they win the next 10 World Series, or lose every game. IT'S JUST BASEBALL
However, I will now probably post even less than I have. I, for one won't be intimidated by your viewpoint of "taking your ball and going home" attitude. Sorry that it bothers you so intently. Delete away.

Didn't look too sharp yesterday! Looks like they need a left fielder...and I only saw snipets of the game.

Wow, what a great pitchers duel tonight and the better team won!

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I cant wait for Sale to get back. I heard early June. I hope he is bringing it when he returns!

You are seriously off base here.
