Still going through GrandPa's stuff, Choice BU 1944 Lincoln Wheat cent in a Littleton package

Still going through Pa's coins. Tonight found a very pleasant red Lincoln cent in a Littleton cellophane. I guess it stood out to me because of the dozens other Lincoln cents, Roosevelt dimes and buffs in Littleton cellphones, this one was the best. I 'cracked' it out and stuck it in a Saflip for fun. Happy Saturday.

That's a real real nice coin!

Knockout luster and real clean fields to boot. Too bad about the cheeky nick and the back of the neck one.

Grade? I say no less than 67.

    What do you roomies think?

Too many hits on Lincoln to make 67 IMO.

I was thinking 65 or 66. There are some hits on the face. It’s staying in the Saflip.

Great strike and luster, I agree that the two heavy marks on the obv would stop a 67 grade. I certainly could see it in a 66+ holder though. Probably a good call to leave it in the Saflip.

A very solid 65 RED. You should have left it in the original packaging. The original packaging added interest to the coin and would not have damaged it as it does not appear to have any PVC in it.

I really don't know of anyone who cares about original Littleton packaging. It's ubiquitous.

It is more interesting than a standard flip.

I stuck the Littleton cello in the other Saflip pocket, for posterity I guess.

Too many large marks in prime focal areas. 64 RD.
