Paid 154$ for the pair.. I feel that was fair.
I'm not sure why the 79-S didn't receive a PL on it's holder. iMO it easily looks PL. Maybe even dmpl. Sorry for the flood of pictures

I think you paid a fair price for the pair. The 1879-S apparently did not have enough contrast to call PL, but It's hard from pictures

I only point out it not have a pl because it was sitting next to a ngc pl slabbed Morgan and the anacs holder stood out next to the ngc slabbed one.

The '89S is a nice coin, but I would not consider it PL....the reverse is certainly very nice... but rims and contrast are lacking... Cheers, RickO
