Stray package record ?

Is this the record for the farthest off-course USPS package ?
I sent some items from Colorado to Oregon.
USPS tracking indicates that the package is "arriving late" and that it is currently in ...
GUAM !

Usps has definitely been having issues as of late. But that is a little out of control 😂

Must have somehow made it into a military mail bag.
My three day Priority envelope sent to the Kansas City IRS office still hasn't arrived. Sent on the 10th.
I sent a package from Alabama to Hawaii that ended up in Guam. Took 3 days from Guam to Hawaii.
A few months back I had a package arrive and depart Atlanta 16 times before finally getting to South Carolina.
Your package wants to serve in the military!

There are some wild stories lately... but the OP story is really surprising. Cheers, RickO
I had one shipped 12/29/20......Delivered yesterday !
Funny, I ordered a cheap little laser light on the same day. Still waiting. ( although it is coming from China )
I sell golf club headcovers on ebay from time to time. I'm in southwest Florida. I shipped from here to Homestead, Florida. Package went to Fort Meyers, so far so good, then to Hawaii! Sat there a couple days and then started back to it's proper destination. Buyer was all nervous, for a $10 item, and I told him it is USPS. He dinged me in his DSR for shipping time. I ship same day as I receive payment always!

I once sent a coin to Belgium. I got it back at my house 6 months later after a round the world trip of epic proportions. Somehow, they sent it to Benin rather than Belgium. It took 2 months to get to Belgium at which point the recipient had moved. It then wound its way back to me.
Funniest envelope I ever saw. I think I still have it here somewhere. It had been everywhere!
Three weeks 5000 miles it’s took a tour around the country trying to avoid weather I guess

Free sight-seeing vacation!
I don't know if it applies to this package, but there also appears to be an occasional...er...feature in the USPS tracking. I've had tracking temporarily show the presence of my package in weird locations. For example, I had a package that was travelling from NY to another East Coast location but it suddenly showed Arizona in the tracking. But a couple days later, it was delivered and the Arizona disappeared from the tracking stream.
So, your package might have never been in Guam...might have been in Belgium instead!
It seems like most every package I have sent lately stays 3 to 5 days at a New Jersey depot. The package may be shipped from California, Florida or even Kentucky to West Virginia and still gets grabbed by NJ somehow. Doesn't make sense at all. I used to have trouble with packages sitting in Indianapolis for days on end, but not lately.

I don’t know the distance, but the duration was a few days short of two years.
Things are hit or miss these days aren't they. I've ordered coins lately and they have simply zoomed to my mailbox in like two days. Go USPS! Then there's things I've ordered that the seller takes a week to ship, and then the USPS takes another week with it. I can't wrap my head around it.
they told me "what package"
The USPS doesn't know what to do with all the mail it receives, so they load it onto planes and fly it around for awhile until they can catch up.
Lets close more Post Offices.
Yeah.............that's the ticket!

First class package from Mpls 2/8 to Boise. Last departure city was Honolulu on 2/11.
Had a USPS inquiry, stated it was slow due to covid. Local PO said it was internally scanned on 2/18, but had no further info.
In December I seemed to have a package going in reverse.
It was headed to me in Denver coming from Florida...
It got stuck for 2 weeks in Texas.
Then for another week in Virginia?
A few days after that it arrived in Denver.

my guess is it got mixed up with a military transport going over there. I have had a very expensive registered mail package
sitting in Dulles, VA since 5 Feb. Fingers crossed it makes it to our host.
And you what to know why the USPS looses money every year!
When I worked for Coin World in SIDNEY, Ohio, we would occasionally receive envelopes rubber stamped “RECEIVED GPO SYDNEY NSW.”
the usps doesn't trip out that many packages a year
