A Look at the Philadelphia Mint

We have a special feature today as Joshua McMorrow-Hernandez takes us on a small tour of the U.S. Mint sites in Philadelphia.

Excerpt: "As a collector and student of United States coins, I love all the U.S. Mints, but I’m especially fond of the Philadelphia Mints. I say 'mints' (plural) because there have been four of them in Philadelphia since the first United States Mint was established in the City of Brotherly Love in 1792. My first tour of a United States Mint facility occurred some two centuries later in Philadelphia, in 1995. And it’s the destination of my nearly annual pilgrimages going on years now."

As a Philly guy, I've walked to all the sites of the Mints, and toured the current Mint. Great history.

I have been to the Philadelphia Mint, stood outside and looked at it... Several times actually. Did not go in though, I was part of a group (each time) who had no interest in the mint... The historical sites were the focus of everyone - myself included. Perhaps the next trip to Philly....Cheers, RickO
