What to do with proof coins

I have been going thru my proof sets.
Pick the nicest toners to grade.
What to do with the spares?
I just hate to send 20 silver quarters and dimes to the melting pot.
Nickels? Cents?
Bought a few Wayne Raymond albums to place them in long term.
Anyone try to sell sigle raw proof coins with any success.
Guess they could fill up a case someday if I start doing shows.

There is little, if any, chance that proof silvers will be melted. They will instead be put into rolls and sold as bullion. They are also loss leaders at shows in that they won't pay the rental space for a table if that is what you display in the case. I would suggest you keep them in rolls and forget about them until and unless you sell them as bullion and don't waste money buying albums to store them in.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
put them in 2x2's and sell a page of 20 on eBay
I agree with this. Simply lot them up and ebay them. eBay is the way to get rid of low priced coins that you no longer want. I make up lots valued at about $20-$50 and they bring what they bring, or if you go to coin shows, there is usually a contribution table for young numismatists at a lot of shows.
From all the proofs that I find in change it seems that some just spend them.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Toss them into tip jars and hope to inspire new collectors.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
A lot of folks seem to spend them on summer vacation. Then I put them in a 2x2.
I am considering taking some of mine, not the silver ones to my LCS and giving them to him if he assures me he will give them to a YN. He will not even buy them at FV as they are more trouble than they are worth.
It's a crazy market, especially on ebay!
I've spent them.
The coins or whole sets? I don't blame the dealer, as there are a lot of presentations that aren't even worth face value once you get them into a form the bank will take.
Sets.
Like another poster, put them on a window sill, watch it tone. Then sell toners on eBay, reap rewards!

Roll the silver coins and sell as bullion... good return at present prices. Cheers, RickO
Silver proof set prices are quite strong on ebay at the moment.
Especially the Limited Edition Sets
