Edited: Schrödinger's cat Is out of the box and blast white with slight toning

Hmmmm, bought this from the sellers images and it arrived today sealed.
So, do I have silver or not?
I can have silver inside at the same time I don't as long as I don't open the box.
.
Or......maybe what I have here is first strike material. Unopened since 1988. I don't think
many people have beat me to the punch, right?
.
Either way I have some nifty Norman Rockwell/ANA 2 ounce silver rounds with pretty cool looking designs on them.
Or....maybe not
.
.
I went ahead and opened the box and there is slight toning on the obverses.... but not important. I'm very happy I opened it and took some pics. They are very pretty and well executed. A set of 12 each 2 ounce silver and I am proud to own.

I think the cat is alive and well. Nice pickup.

I don't know what you have, but I was amused for a few seconds by a medal in the top right image. Second row, middle. Which at first glance seemed like it portrayed subject matter highly atypical for Rockwell. But then I looked closer and saw that it was about football.

It says .999.
Is the cat in the slab or not?
Just couldn't resist posting my cat in a slab!
Great cat @Zoins I’m still searching for one. I was looking forward to imaging all 12 of these
but since it’s sealed I wasn’t sure to open or not

If it smells bad, the cat died.
Nice kitty's
I vote for opening it...maybe the felt lining has added some rainbow colors to the medals.
To me, Schrodinger's cat is similar to an unscratched lottery ticket.
It's both a winner & a loser, at the same time.

They are marked .999 fine silver... so I would say, you have silver. Appears to be an intact, original set. Cheers, RickO
That might not be a cat, but a cougar!

Or the original mint sealed 1950s proof set or GSA dollar boxes, containing nothing but deep cameos and monster toned 66s, respectively, as long as they're unopened.

i'm not a fan of brown on silver but that light brown looks pretty good
I agree. Had they been described to me I would have thought they were not nice, but I find myself really liking the shading it enhances on the obverse. Pretty cool.
The look of the mirror on the 2nd and the moon on the 4th is very attractive. Nice contrast.
Thanks everyone. Now that both plastic wraps are removed it may tone a
wee bit faster. But, they are still in the plastic capsules. I did not take them out to shoot
the images.

A little side note......I like the symbols for dems and republicans in October, “The Debate”

Nice silver but how is it possible to have "blast white" and "slight toning" coexisting on the same piece?
“I believe in intuitions and inspirations. I sometimes feel that I am right. I do not know that I am. When two expeditions of scientists, financed by the Royal Academy, went forth to test my theory of relativity, I was convinced that their conclusions would tally with my hypothesis. I was not surprised when the eclipse of May 29, 1919, confirmed my intuitions. I would have been surprised if I had been wrong. I am enough of the artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” Albert Einstein- quoted in Saturday Evening Post interview (1929)
“Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.” For Einstein, honesty was fundamental. Attention to truth in small things reflected a person’s integrity on a larger scale.
