Went through a few Lincoln cent rolls the other night....

As my pandemic project, I have been going through and reorganizing 20 years of purchases. Over the weekend I decided to finally look through a few random Lincoln cent roll acquisitions, the results are shown below.
First I went through two circulated rolls of 1936 cents that I bought within the past few months, and they were absolute garbage. At lease a third of them had been harshly cleaned to the point that they glowed, and I didn't find a single variety coin.
Next were two rolls of 1941 cents that I think I bought at a show a few years ago... or maybe they were an eBay impulse buy? Whatever the source, I'd been sitting on them for years, and in addition to about a dozen really nicely toned AU/UNC pieces, I found this guy (sorry for the blurry picture)
Next was a ziploc bag of 1917 cents, I assumed these were leftovers from roll I'd searched years ago but I decided to go through them anyway, and boy am I glad I did:
The last roll of 1944-D Lincolns gave up the most interesting coin of all, but you're going to have to wait for another thread to see it.
All in all it was one of the more productive nights I've had in recent memory, and it has me charged up to see what else I've overlooked over the years.

Great write-up.
nice, but the pictures spaces are showing nothing for me
They aren't showing in my browser, but they are on my phone. I checked the markup about six times, maybe it's a Forum bug?

Nice finds.... I hope to find such little treasures when I eventually go through my old jars, boxes and bags of cents... They beckon me on nasty days such as this (sleet, freezing rain), but got some indoor chores that need attention first. Since some have been sitting in containers for well over thirty years, I am sure they will wait a tad longer.
Cheers, RickO
And to think you were sitting on them for that many years. Better check you "known" stuff as well.
