How do you get the coins out of these 1976-S silver proof capsules?

I have been trying, but they seem to be sealed very well.
My slab cracking technique might not work without damaging coin. Got any secrets?

Go around the seam on the edge with an X-acto knife or a similar sharp blade and then gently and carefully pry it apart. The capsule halves are a friction fit.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

@PerryHall nailed it.... best method I have found. Just be careful with the X-acto blade... Cheers, RickO

You may not but... if you're planning on submitting them then leave them as-is and the TPG can crack it out for you.

    Hammer! I kid i kid

One of my earlier memories of anything let alone coins was playing with those as my brother (born 76) got a ton as birth gifts. One of the halves opened naturally and I got a bunch of prints on the mirrors and my brother started crying and I got in trouble

Put on a hard surface,,,,, tap on the seam with a hammer,,,,, don't get carried away and you will be fine.
