Thinking about buying the wife a nice coin for Valentines day

This could be exciting especially since she doesn't collect coins but I'll also buy her flowers.
I might even have to sell a lower grade coin (the same year) and should she regift it I'll have an upgrade.
Thoughts?

No romantic Valentines Day for you.
Better just stick with the flowers and dinner.
Keep it old school or you'll get a serious eye roll
I ordered some nice jewelry for my wife, something got mixed up in shipping and a bunch of fishing gear came instead.
Please don’t. You’ll thank me later.
Been there. Bad idea.
How would you feel about a pretty scarf and potpourri for father's day?
Lance.
I sincerely hope this is meant to be a joke.

She’ll get all your coins in the divorce.
Death by flying vase of flowers is my prediction.
In my many years of experience in such matters; I can tell you this:
Women don't care a damn about what you buy for yourself, just as long as they are well taken care of, too.
Soo, if you have enough cash to satisfy both her AND pick up your coin....then go ahead, as It won't be an issue.
But, if your budget doesn't allow for two, then she will NOT appreciate being neglected.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

She might appreciate something like a high grade High Relief Saint!
Use your money to buy a card, candy, flowers and a nice dinner in a good restaurant. Trust me - The benefits are better than any coin.
Cheers, RickO
Buy your wife flowers and a nice diner out and then buy yourself a nice coin. Win-Win.

When we got married my wife's brother gave her a 1901 $5 gold coin as a gift. I got her a bezel for the coin and she wears it on a gold chain as a necklace. That about how far I'll go in getting here anything numismatically related. She liked the dozen red roses I gave her this year.

Actually, my wife would love a high end Liberty nickel. That’s her favorite series. I bought her an 1897 just last week, though.
Did you offer to store it for her with your coins?

Lol. She has an antique dish where she keeps her Liberty nickels. She’s got about a dozen now. If I could find a well done necklace charm with one I might get it for her to wear.
Make sure it's a coin you like, because it might be the only thing you're getting today.
Again? I wonder why?
What? and take money from a coin purchase?
Been there received that.
Mistakes will happen.
Sooner than later.
Maybe I can regift the potpourri in exchange for a coin?
After reading the responses I've determined my idea might not work?
Funny you should say that. She's the only one with the safe combination so...

Doubtful.
Can I keep one?
I didn't think anyone would laugh?
Double NO.
Sweet!
No. Just drop a cent on the flowers.
Serious money from a low grade collector?
Happy wife happy life?
With what left over? She has an expensive taste in flowers.
Sentimental. Good for you.
Shared hobby? Anything better?
I've reconsidered. I won't make the same mistake two years in a row.
Thanks everyone for your help.
After careful consideration the coin is out.
I believe for Valentines day I will take her somewhere she's never been.
The kitchen.

Why does it have to be Valentine's Day for you guys to "buy" "the wife" whatever something?
is it because it is simply that day? or it is "expected"????
tomorrow, for example, 1 doz roses will be less than half price....same roses!!
and next week??? half price??? get the drift?
