Question about shipwreck coins

How does one enter SS Central America shipwreck coins into their Registry Set? If I owned this coin, how would I for example enter it in my type set as my Type I example of Liberty Head Double Eagle?
Also, how do you look up one of these coins in the PCGS Cert Verification database? https://www.pcgs.com/cert

This old thread indicates that you can contact PCGS for the cert number by referencing the SSCA number on the label.

Tried to search for an old thread that might answer my question, but the tread you found eluded my efforts. Thanks.

I always wondered this myself, good info to know.
Just did this recently. You have to call PCGS to figure out the Cert number. You can email, but it will take much longer.
This is the type of information that can be really helpful. It is great to have this shared community to learn of new things.
I contacted them a while back and the reply said they were working with their App people to get a coin search to work.
I purchased one from the second recovery. It does have Cert number but would not load into any of my registry sets. I had to do a request to get it entered for each set I was building. That makes no sense, it has a Cert number.

That is a nice gold coin.... I wonder if it is 'as recovered' or was restoration done.... I understand from some of the articles, that there were many gold coins that needed no restoration. Gold is good that way - and many other ways....
Cheers, RickO
On a side note, I almost purchased that exact coin. It was very tempting but a 64+CAC became available.

You can also go to the CAC website and do a Coin Look-Up.
In this case, enter the four digit number 1036 and CAC will
verify it and also give you the PCGS Cert Number.
Very helpful!!! I just looked it up and got the PCGS number so I could check it on the PCGS page.
On the PCGS cert page you can check recent auctions of similar coins. Assuming these recent auction prices for MS64 and MS65 1857-S Liberty $20s are correct (are these the final prices including the buyer premium?), the sellers I am seeing online are 30-50% high with their pricing, and that's whether I am looking at their ebay dealer stores (where one might expect a little premium to offset the dealer's ebay fees) or their individual coin shop websites.

Those are the prices with the buyer's premium. You really have a nice coin there, gold foil from the first recovery. I am also looking for an 1857-S, 60 to 62, plus gold foil with a CAC sticker. Haven't found one I like yet. The sellers are a little high with their pricing so an auction may be the way to go.
