Email I just got from the BB HOF:

Dear,

Greetings from Cooperstown.

Due to the ongoing safety concerns associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to provide updates regarding our annual signature events: Hall of Fame Classic Weekend, which takes place over Memorial Day Weekend, and Induction Weekend, which is slated for late July. Both of these events were canceled last year due to the pandemic.

We regret to inform you that all 2021 Hall of Fame Classic Weekend events, originally scheduled for May 29, have been canceled. This is inclusive of the Hall of Fame Game, Classic Weekend’s Night at the Museum meet-and-greet event, BASE Race, and the Cooperstown Classic Clinic.

Though we are having to cancel Hall of Fame Classic Weekend, we nonetheless are moving forward with plans for our July 25th Induction Ceremony. We had hoped to be in a position to welcome you back to Cooperstown for Induction Weekend, but with the continuing uncertainties created by COVID-19, the Board of Directors has decided not to hold Induction Weekend ceremonies at the traditional Clark Sports Center location. We have prepared alternative plans to conduct our annual Awards Presentation and Induction Ceremony as television events taking place indoors, and adhering to all of the required New York State guidelines.

The Hall of Fame’s 2021 Induction Ceremony will honor the members of the Class of 2020: Derek Jeter, Marvin Miller, Ted Simmons and Larry Walker. Being honored during the Awards Presentation will be 2021 Ford C. Frick Award winner for broadcasting excellence, Al Michaels, and the 2020 Frick Award winner, Ken Harrelson; the 2021 BBWAA Career Excellence Award winner for baseball writing, Dick Kaegel, and the 2020 BBWAA Award winner, Nick Cafardo; and the 2020 Buck O’Neil Lifetime Achievement Award winner, David Montgomery.

While we are disappointed that the Induction Ceremony will not be open for fans to attend in person this year, it will be aired on the MLB Network for you to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming you back to a more traditional Hall of Fame Weekend in 2022.

The Museum remains open 7 days a week, with full lineup of COVID-19 safety precautions in place. You can learn more about visiting the Museum here.

Thank you for your continued support during these difficult times.

Yours in Baseball,
The Hall of Fame Team

That's going to crush the small businesses in Cooperstown that rely on their income from that weekend.

Todd Tobias - Grateful Collector - I focus on autographed American Football League sets, Fleer & Topps, 1960-1969, and lacrosse cards.

that is just terrible news. I have been to many inductions and they are fantastic. too bad Jeter and walker wont be able to hear the roar of the crowd one more time.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Especially when you consider that with Jeter going in, attendance would have been higher than normal, as in 2019 with Rivera and 2007 with Ripken (and Gwynn).
