Lighthouse PCGS slab albums

Hello Everyone,

I am curious if anyone has had any luck with those Lighthouse albums designed to hold 9 PCGS slabbed coins on a sheet? Are they well made? Is the quality there? Any honest reviews would be appreciated. I am seriously thinking about getting a few for my Mercury Dimes.

Thank you,
Jeff

I have never used the Lighthouse slab albums so I am interested in any feedback from others as well.

I used the first generation Eagle albums and was not happy with them. The plastic was a little stiffer and had a tendency to mar the slabs if any grit got on the pages. I also made the mistake of stacking my albums horizontally which placed more pressure on all the surfaces. So if you do try these out, make sure you shelve them like a book and be careful about cleanliness.

I understand that Eagle has changed their material composition so maybe they are more friendly to slabs these days. But by then, I had moved on to other storage means that were more space efficient and actually fit in a bank vault.

If you don't get any responses, buy a single page and try it out.

Never seen Lighthouse albums but I've used the Eagle slab albums for years... Cheap material but they work okay and look pretty good. Just handle them with a little care... Buy extra pages since over time you will damage a few.

I have used the lighthouse albums for many many years. I think that I own 10 of the Grande G Classic models which holds 6 pages for 54 slabs and comes with a nice slipcase. To me they are a little pricey and the pages themselves are good. I have broken a few of them overtime but I do think the cost to replace the pages is ridiculous. The best that I have done was at a cost of $3.00 each ($6.00/2) as they come 2 in a package. I have never found any kind of free shipping on these. PLMK if you find these for a lower cost.
My last purchase was on 1/30/21. I paid $64.70 which was for the Album with included 6 pages and an extra 2 pages. Shipping cost was $9.95 with no sales tax.

    Kennedys are my quest...

I lile the LH pages way better. The eagle pages will damage the slabs if you take them out a lot by the way they hold the slab. There's friction with the plastic

I've used both. I prefer the Eagle pages but for my best stuff I use these-

Like the recent posts above, I have both. I started out with Eagle, but to me, the Lighthouse Grande (both the 4 page version and 6 page version) are much higher in overall quality, and make much more handsome displays. For my smaller sets, like 12 piece Type Gold, Two Cent Set, Franklin Proof Set, SLQ DATE set, etc, I use the two page Eagle. For my larger Type Sets, Lincoln Wheat DATE Set, Classic Silver Commem Type Set, etc., I absolutely go with Lighthouse.

I’ve used the Lighthouse for several years with no problem. I’ve ordered extra pages many times. You can place these pages in any three ring binder although the expensive Lighthouse binder is very nice. There is definitely something to be said for having your best coins viewable in Lighthouse pages rather than hidden away in a plastic storage box.
