It's been a few months but my old buddy, Bailey, passed away in May. I wasn't roaming the forum at the time but he was my profile picture since I joined in 2006.

Below is one of the first and one of the last pictures of Bailey.

Coalbreaker "Coal" joined the family this winter. Keeping the tradition, I've updated my profile picture.

    My deepest sympathies.

As a fellow dog lover I can feel your pain, having lost two of ours in the last couple of years. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

This is Abby. We lost her in May, 2019. We are still grieving.

And this is Kyle. He's been gone 13 years. He was a rescue dog. Boston terriers are our preferred breed but we balance that out with an equal number of rescues, mostly Black Labs.

Sorry about that have gone threw it myself a few times. Animals are the best and I mean the very best. The only I found to get over such a tragic event is to buy another pet right away I cannot stand the sens of a empty home. And they all have something special about them.

Sorry to hear, those are always difficult. Good to keep the tradition alive, though.

Sorry to hear this news, We almost lost our
12 pound doggie to a coyote a few weeks ago. She fought her off until we were able to get to her.

It is always hard to lose a member of the family. Dogs are a gift to us. I always try to remember that I am heartbroken because I had an amazing friend and that makes me lucky.

A dog really is man's best friend. Probably for the simple fact that they cannot speak, they always seem to listen and understand. My condolences.

I feel your pain. Had our 1st yellow Lab " Sugar " for 14 years, our 2nd " Sheba " for 16 years. Lost her in June of last year. Some people say " it's just a dog " NO THEY ARE FAMILY. So So sorry for your loss.

I live right next to a national recreation area so we have lots of coyotes here. We have to keep a close eye on our Bostons when they are outside. We do have a Shepard mix rescue dog that goes outside with them. I hope she's a deterrent.

I'm sorry for your loss and I absolutely remember you using Bailey as your avatar.

Just after my older daughter turned two-years old we lost one of our cats whom we had for about 13-years. My daughter had no understanding of death and simply knew the cat was not around anymore. One night shortly afterward I went into her room after she went to bed and we were talking. Suddenly, she had a giant smile and told me "Kitty sitting next to daddy! Kitty loves daddy." I was stunned, but acted calm and asked her what else the cat was doing. She told me our cat was curled up next to me and wanted to be with me.

I have a feeling that Bailey will always be near you.

we lost our Black Lab, Shyla, on January 2nd, 2020 after almost 15 years. we got another Lab about a month later but chose to honor Shyla's memory, so we chose a Yellow Lab and named her 'Gette. she's sleeping on the bed about four feet away, likes to stay close.
