I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. I wish everyone a Happy Super Bowl Sunday and may the best team win
I honestly don't know much about this Military Medal but, doing research on the Second Infantry Division (Indian Head)
"Second To None" has quite an interesting history. Its copper and is same size as silver dollar. I'm not sure if you would call this a challenge coin or a medal?

If anyone can elaborate on this particular one I would greatly appreciate it. It is obviously US but curiously stamped on edge

Always love copper for the weekend, and as a former Army officer I really like that medal!

Style and size are that of a challenge coin, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in pure copper. And I’ve seen thousands. Lots of bronze but no copper. Interesting.

I will be glued to the set watching Super Bowl LV. Here's a copper coin-PCGS MS65 RB.
Too difficult to tell copper or bronze from the pic, but if it’s bronze then I’d say 99% it’s a challenge coin.

I like rescuing wayward pets and attractive (mostly cheap) coins in proof sets. From a 2020 submission.... PF66rd

Have you looked up The Lombardo Mint? The surface finish, metal content, lettering style, and the concave fields that bend up relatively sharply towards the rims are typical of their productions.

I’ve not heard of them. I did a quick Google search and nothing. I’ll send them an
email with the pics and ask them.....thanks!

It's made of bronze. The 2nd has been in Korea since the original conflict (thus the open ending date on the DMZ line) and is partially made up of South Korean soldiers. I don't believe that it is a challenge coin in the current use and understanding of that good identification idea that has exploded into the metallic pogs that now infest seemingly every organization of more than three people. There is a strong possibility that it was struck by the Lombardo Mint which is still in business the last time I checked.
The 2nd Infantry Division in noted for its previous similar issues including the one below and a couple Korean Conflict pieces with 1950 to 1953 dates that feature a buffalo along with the unit emblem. They are similar in style and set up to the medal above except for size (about 24-26mm for the Korean pieces and the 1960 piece). None are overly scarce.

Thank you very much for the info. I emailed them and send some images. Hopefully I'll hear back. Would be
great to find out. I have seen your example when I searched on the internet. But the other you mention and mine do nit sho up. Like you say maybe not particulairly rare but, still nice pieces.

I'm guessing that these are not your coins GB?
Abe, I TOLD you to stop putting pencils in your nose!
I found a box of raw coins I totally forgot about today that I haven’t seen in over 10 years. Here’s 2 copper pieces from the box. I’m probably going to start another post on them to ask people what they are, but I wanted to post them here in the copper thread first 🌞
Mr_Spud
You are guessing oh so correct.
I believe Winged Liberty posted this collage of IHC's years back.
I've saved the image for obvious reasons.
Those are some great cents! Any chance you might sell the 1839 head of '38?
A matching set of 1839 cents! Awesome!!
A recent pickup:
I forgot I bought this in 2020 and just found it in a drawer
I have sold 3 of the 1800 dated Uncharitable Monopolizer tokens in both metal types over the years. I have always loved the obverse design, however as I do not collect conder tokens keeping one never made sense. This 2000 Conder Token Collector Copper Club, Deep Mirror Proof Like, Copper, 39mm Diameter. fills the void well.
@coinnut I really like your 39 Petite Head

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.In my Hawaiian collection. A Paris medal awarded to Mr. J.M.S. Williams of Honolulu. He shared his research when Hawaii was a Kingdom. On January 17, 1893, the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom occurred. Mr. J.M.S. Williams received his award medal after the Provisional Government of Hawaii was installed.
Article that I located discussing the award, Mr. J.M.S. Williams, and his research topic.
.
Interesting enough I picked this one on EBay being from the Lombardo mint. Says made in Canada on edge. 39mm.
I think I picked this one up from your eBay store too..
