What the heck is going on with the 2021 Silver Eagles

PTVETTERPTVETTER Posts: 5,995 ✭✭✭✭✭

Sometimes in stock and soon after that out of stock?
Prices change during the day?
Has any one ordered and had to wait more than a week?

I recommend asking this and other questions on the precious metals forum.

I personally don't think buying "in stock soon" items is good. 1) you have to trust them with your money for XX extra days. 2) If you are happy with today's sale price, you might not be (or be gleeful) when they finally ship. it's a dice roll. ... mostly for 1)

They're also changing the reverse design this year; so there will be two different backs - the current one, and another, similar to the Eisenhower silver dollar backs (Eagle landing with an olive branch in it's claws).

Small quantities just to fill the Danscos. Certainly wouldn't stack them at these prices (eBay quantities of 5 $31 ea delivered although spot was $1.50 higher at the time) Decided to get proactive, my cheap arse still hasn't purchased 2020 because I was waiting for a deal. 2021 complete IF the PO can get them here. Out of stock now. Probably the most expensive silver I ever purchased....well not counting 2011. lol

The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

personally, I'd like to know what the hecks going on with the 2021 type 2 silver eagles - specifically, going along with this theme of type 1 bullion, will there be type 2 bullion released this year as well as the coins midyear? haven't seen any mention of the type 2 bullion release

The 10.01.20 press release from the US Mint states that:
"New designs will be featured on bullion and collectible coins in 2021."

Could not find a more recent press release with specific release dates for the T2 bullion.

don't speculate regarding bullion releases. those are locked in.

the question is what numismatic products will be made?

is this a year with 4coin AGE HE and 4 coin AGE new eagle? (the schedule does not make it appear so)
will the 4 coin AGE be the HE reverse and the burnished AGE be the new eagle?

can people's wallets stand coins of both types in a single year?

I only sell what I have in stock
As a dealer you can not relay on getting anymore from the wholesalers!
They have run out twice so far this year.

Sounds a bit like what I told the wife.

"You cannot sell a coin that we have in our inventory lists. You can only offer a coin that you have seen in person the past 24 hours".

Well, Philly and SF are striking some. TPGs are labeling them emergency issues with a (P) or (S) on the label based on monster box serial numbers that the mint provide to the public. Last time this happened the mint later "revised" the serial numbers after the TPGs used the incorrect serial numbers on sealed boxes to certify the coins as being struck in Philly. TPGs indicate the mint on the label with parenthesis when the coin does not bare the uncommon mint mark.
