I'm kinda a sucker for these old type set boards...

This was 5 bucks at a local shop I stopped at a few weeks back. Brand new, likely from the 80's - it sits in a black frame under glass and hangs on the wall. I've done a couple of them in the past with nice, circulated stuff and enjoyed the hunt for just the right look.
The other day, it dawned on me that I could fill nearly half of it up immediately with UNC examples... So, now, that's what I think I'm going to do. The Barber half is really the only one I'm concerned with - a quick look around says those are $4 or $5 hundred to begin with but maybe with some patience, a nice AU will come along and not look out of place.

I like the look a lot
Nice board! Great looking coins so far.
Probably from the late 60s, no SBA says pre 1980, no Ike dollar says pre 1971.

Good point.

Very cool!

And similar to one I’ve had since I was a little kid.
Moved recently and uncovered it. The glass had broken and a couple of coins fallen out. Most of the coins it held have toned very dramatically. The brighter Morgan here I just dropped in for the photo. The original is nearly black. I need to get a new sheet of glass for this!

Nice. That one is apparently from just about exactly 1964.

Yes Baley! I hadn’t put that together until you mentioned it.
That’s when I got this and plopped that now black Kennedy half into that hole.
Must be very acidic board on these things. I’m not sure they even had ‘archival’ board materials back then, outside of museums.

I think I really like the Barber Dime on the op.
Very cool!
I have a 1964 half almost identical to yours
That's an awesome board!

Nice
Nice!
Those boards are really nice. @nwcoast... I wonder why the WLH and Franklin did not tarnish like the Kennedy half?? Cheers, RickO
I think they did Ricko, it’s just that they had fallen out of the board somehow in the chaos of the move, placed aside, and I plugged the holes with something else more easily accessible for the photo.
I have the darkly toned Walker and Morgan now, though I’m having trouble finding the dark Franklin half.
The stuff really went dark!
