I’ll say 150k, what do you think a 75 Topps Brett PSA 10 would go for today?

I noticed zooming in that the green banner has a couple of print fish eyes too besides being centered probably 55/45 left to right. This card was graded early (0xxxxxxx) and would not grade a psa-10 today. I would honestly grade it a psa-9.

Man that is an ugly 10, if I was sending that in I would be expecting an 8, and I have sent in a ton over the years. I have hit 3 9's and they are all better than that and I currently have 16 8's and 10 7's

I'll play... I'll be the first to say the centering doesn't have to be 50/50 for a 10 but it should be, at a glance.

60/40 is requirement for centering on front. But I'd also want a 10 to have more eye appeal than this card does.

That is not a 10 and I don't think the back is 75/25, more like 85/15

    I don't disagree. I didn't say it looked like a 10 :)

The centering on the front looks fine to me. But the centering on the back is hideous. And neither of the top corners looks sharp, both look to have slight wear.

The Dimitri Young PSA 10 Brett is in the auction too, so we will see.

There are also some other interesting D.Young items up for sale too, like the '73 Schmidt

Sharp card but you did get a bit lucky with that one as T/B centering on that one will land an 8 9 out of 10 times. That said, it's a nice clean example.

Technically it is within the guidelines. It is just so hard to land a 10 in this issue and it turns it into car value. Happy with a sharp centered 9

    I have a PSA 8. I was just looking on eBay. They are listed from $340 - $799 for a 8.

here are a couple of my 8's I think they are as nice to the Dmitri 10 or pretty close.

I have a really hard time guessing the grade on this card. Corners are so rarely perfectly sharp and square - even on the Dmitri copy. It's not prone to fisheyes. Centering is easy enough to see but again - like the Dmitri copy there seems to be allowances made sometimes. Is there some other telltale trait to look for that knocks these down from 10 to 9 or from 9 to 8? Registration maybe?

I don't care for that 10 at all.

Here is my 9 that I kept.

Plenty of flaws with that card, and maybe it's just the scan, but the registration and clarity on the photo is AMAZING for that card.

ETA: I never noticed the ringworm-like circle blob in the photo underneath the U and T in Outfield... but every card pictured here has it.

UFFDAH that is a beautiful card. Perhaps the best Rickey I have ever seen.

Perhaps if Morgana was running to home plate before Rickey swings ?

I haven't thought about the Dmitri Young auction for quite a while, I gotta say that auction did a tremendous amount of good for the hobby. I was just starting to get back into it and learn about grading and what a Gem Mint 10 means from PSA, so it was fascinating to watch. I ended up picking up the Molitor/Trammel card and a couple Roger Clemns from that and it catapulted me back into it. I haven't looked back since.

I do not have any cards from that auction but still have the catalogue. The Reggie RC really stands out to me as PSA-10 worthy.
