If you’re not certain, it doesn’t seem appropriate to post it.

Regardless of how you phrased it, if you had either the name wrong or the show wrong, you inaccurately and unfairly called the company’s integrity into question.

Not unjustly, they can’t, unless they want to risk a libel suit.

Libel: “a written or oral defamatory statement or representation that conveys an unjustly unfavorable impression.”

The OP was relaying what he experienced. In your case, you don’t even know if the named company was on the crime show you mentioned. Try putting yourself in their place. And reading on a forum that someone said they could swear YOUR name “sounds like it was on American greed like 10 years ago...”

Yup. This is why I hate the public shaming of eBay buyer/sellers. I also hate for accusations against corporate entities. You can tell your tale of woe, but it should be "just the facts, ma'am". IMHO. And when we are reading your "facts", we should recognize that there is another side of the story that may not agree with yours.

    You CAN but you SHOULDN'T.

    2 sides to every story.

I deleted the original details because the subject went off-topic. I asked if anyone had experience with a particular company and wanted references. In further research I found they had an "F" rating with the BBB and had numerous complaints relating to the way they did business. The BBB complaints stated they took collections on consignment to sell but only paid a fraction of what had been promised. Other complaints complaint of over graded coins being sent to buyers. That is what I needed to know.

Due diligence saved you from what likely could have been financially unpleasant. Cheers, RickO

The 3rd side doesn't matter because you'll never be able to figure out what it is.

I’m trying to figure out why you chose to spell out the 10. I’m perplexed.
