Do you have Dansco 7070 Type Albums with different themes?

For example, I have a regular typeset album of problem-free well-matching coins (missing a few). I have another set with contemporary counterfeits (and a few of the spots are filled with D. Carr creations). My third album is lowball coins, and my fourth is coins with holes in them (I recently "upgraded" the Buffalo nickel).
Do you have also collect not just type coins yet have sub-sets with different themes?
I'd be interested in what they are.

No, but you've given me some good ideas. Thanks.
I've always been a fan of collecting in albums. Here are just a few I keep out of the safe (as the value isn't terribly high and I am playing with them- adding to them and such):

My 7070 is full of clipped planchets, and I have single volume Whitman Bookshelf type album that I started filling with Circ Cam™ coins, though I haven't done anything with that set in years. I'd love to try that with the two volume Bookshelf set but Louis Eliasberg would have struggled to fill that one.

The possibilities could easily extend to collecting a quality for the grade at various grade levels. That endeavor reads and sounds like fun mainly because it is a challenge few would undertake. However, the reward could extend to redefining collecting at a level that just might be what the hobby needs to bring real collectors into a hobby that should welcome the endeavor.

I have 3 Dansco 7070 albums, the "A" set is complete with gold and my highest grade and most eye appealing examples. The B set is about 3/4 finished and contains many beautifully toned coins. The C book is barely started. Also have two sets of the 2-volume Whitman type set albums, one with plenty of the early coins.
Big fan of type set albums.

a counterfeit album?
A guess the details album?
How about one with just engraved coins, be they love tokens, remembrance pieces, or something crude? I imagine this would be a rather difficult version of a 7070 set, especially if you added the gold page.

I just finished my 7070 type set. Here are 2 pages to give you an idea how it looks

Braddock, really like that skeleton Stone Mountain, are those still available somewhere.
I thought of doing a 7070 with only first or last year coins where allowed

That would be a terrific theme. I like the idea of a first-year release on each coin. As for the above, TwoBitCollector- another theme would be evenly matched- within a grade scale coins (such as yours). The difficulty would be to say you choose VF as your anchor grade to find the more modern coins within that grade.

Looks like you've got plenty to keep you busy Braddick. I just sold my extra 7070 album that I hadn't put a single coin in - now I'm sort of regretting that. An affordable, lower grade and well matched set looks like fun.

This is my custom 7070 I made. The goal is to fill it up with mid to high end condition coins displaying good strike and eye appeal.

The New Ultimate Custom Dansco US Type Set Album.
@Bullet01 this is outstanding! One would hope that this is what Dansco would come up with in a "redesign" of the album. Now would seem to be the best time to do so as they try to get back on line with production.
Bullet01: Beautiful, matching set! Looks tight. My single surprise is you didn't separate the 40% silver Kennedy halves (1965-70-D) from the clad (1971- to date), as your attention to detail with the other series is unparalleled. Was there logic behind you choosing not to?

@Meltdown , your former album will be put to good use! I plan on filling it with up with cric cams as much as possible along the lines of @Crackout 's set that he finished and posted here several years ago.
I once started a large cent by date collection all with holes in them and then a dealer made me an offer that i could not refuse. I had about 30 different dates.
I thought about a key date type set but never got to it.
My 7070 album is full of fakes.

I want to do another 7070, this time with attractively toned coins. I've seen a beautiful Type Set here somewhere with beautiful toners, but they are all slabbed (PCGS of course) rather than being in an album.

Mine has been finished now for a couple years and I've slowly been upgrading pieces as I find them but that's gotten more expensive than fun so I've stalled out a little.
Looking at it now, there are a few more spots I could improve fairly cheap...

I went beyond 7070 albums. Holed key date type set but had to settle for a few plugged. I still have "album" holes to fill. Also, looped coins. Also, bullet holes. Also, holed or plugged multiple times. Also, counterstamped coins but no real effort put in that one. Holed is the one I enjoy the most and expanded to attempt complete sets a few decades ago.
I remember you showing me your 7070 at '09 Portland ANA and I could tell you would end up with a really eye appealing collection.
👍
@Swampboy
Has it been that long? Wow. The 73 Lincoln cent in that album was from you if I remember correctly. Also, we were hanging out together at some show when I bought that blue toned SLQ in there as well. Funny how those type of things stand out when building an album - Many of those coins came from members here over the years.

I have a complete 7070 like most of the above pictures (no gold though).
I made this custom page from a blank small dollar page and add it to the back of the album. I believe each of these coins are their own type. The pictures stink but you get the point.
You and me both brother!

A friend of mine and I have a debate, I've had some coins tone in the Dansco album, others not. He claims they will not tone the coins. So, did any of your coins become toned in the album or did you obtain them that way?
Thanks for any light you may shed on this subject.

I'm doing a first year "7070" type set with PCGS CACs. It was more interesting to me than getting the best grade of the most common year of each coin.
More a virtual 7070 because I like them slabbed... but have plans for one with all cherrypicked varieties. Should take awhile.

Should put some added fun into collecting, but I think I'll wait until shows start back up in earnest. An album of nice circulated examples for each grandchild would be fun to assemble.
I have two.. one is complete with my eye appeal picks, the other is half full with coins I have upgraded..it's an ongoing, enjoyable process

I don't know if they changed the composition over the years, but mine from ~1985 definitely tones coins, but not all of them.
There are some white coins that are still white after 30+ years, but others that I had to remove and store separately for fear of getting terminal toning.
Their other albums also tone coins. I had Peace dollars that toned fairly dramatically, and a friend of mine has many Dansco albums, and the Jeff nickels and Roosy dimes have all toned on him (and he's a Ricko disciple, who doesn't like toning).
@Bullet01 - How did you make that custom 7070? It looks like something that Dansco produced for you. Beautiful set, sir!

I knew a guy on these forums years ago (I forget his handle) who had three 7070s in progress. One for the first year, one for last year, and one for key dates only.

Meltdown-
I enjoy putting the reverse side of some coins on the front page as well. This way we don't have to turn the page and flip the album to see the reverses!
As much as possible, I tried to acquire coins from forum members in their areas of interest- 5c from Keets, Kennedy half from Russ, Roosie from FC57Coins, Frankie from LucyBop, shield nickel from IGWT, etc. Some of these members are no longer with us, and some are sadly REALLY no longer with us.
