I like the third coin in the series, but as usual, these are way too expensive. Kudos to the mint for not putting random people on coins this time. I like what they’ve done.

I agree. The "random people" shtick as you call it is becoming somewhat tiresome.

I’m not sure of the symbolism chosen, an oak tree springing from an acorn symbolizes ‘freedom of religion’?
"The United States Mint (Mint) announced today that it is launching a new five-year Platinum Proof Coin Program series starting in 2021 and continuing through 2025. [...] This series uses the lifecycle of the oak tree from seedling to a mighty oak as a metaphor for our country’s growth as a nation that values freedom. Liberty grows to a thing of strength and beauty from a seed—our Bill of Rights."

I wonder if it would be considered gauche to ask how many coin collectors, in general, are faithful believers and how many are atheists.
I think it would violate the forum rules. Few things inflame passions as much as religion, politics, and similar subjects. I think we will do well to stick with coins here.
I'm not sure we could get an accurate count or % breakdown, but I assume that all groups can appreciate the freedom of religion we have here. It extends to both the doing and the not doing of religion, generally and specifically.
Also, there's a wide spectrum between "faithful believers" and atheists.
the freedom to believe in random 1000 year old fables? Never understood why people who are so adamant about freedom want to turn all responsibility over to some all powerful entity created by illiterate peasants hundreds & hundreds of years ago before science. Magical thinking is a poison to civilized society, there is no magic, just physics and principles we do not yet comprehend.
The freedom to believe whatever fairy tale placates your/our ignorance is counter productive to finding out the real truth. And for the ones who say I don't believe but I am spiritual; that is kind of worse not better. That just tells me you know it is all BS but you're afraid of what you don't know so you believe in a yet unidentified magic space man to hedge your bets post death.
IMHO Its all silly but the Gov dipping its toes with endorsements like this is simply lame attempts to appease the unwashed masses. But I guess it better to appease the unwashed masses then to spin them up at a rally. M2c

Good point. So I won't. Other than to state this: Freedom of Religion doesn't mean Freedom from Religion.

Not a coin, or a metal, that I am interested in.... Cheers, RickO
I might be interested if it was thematic of "Freedom from Religion".

11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
And that’s why we don’t want to bring these topics up on this forum... I’ll exit gracefully before I get drawn into non-coin related discussions.

The ephemeral specter who haunts all that is decent and good.
so, about that platinum coin .... 🤓
The coin has the motto, "In God We Trust", so apparently religious freedom is limited to theist's beliefs.
Then I'm not a fan of Amigo6000!
Not interested.
Decent design however.

Hydrate: No. I love (live for) your threads.
