Clam shell bell. I've seen tiny ones used on braclets. How big is yours? Could have been hung as a "door bell" so the door hits it when opened.
Depending on the size, could be a charm, a pet collar bell or a couple other things. Obviously lost when the loop wore through. Such bells used to be used on dogs or cats. Cheers, RickO
