The Democratic Republic of the Congo....no coins, ...

No coins. But, Folks, here is a One Centime banknote
They also issue notes in other centime denominations, and then notes in Congo Francs. There are 100 centimes to the CF, and as of today, 1,977 CF to ONE US Dollar. So per exchange rate, that 1 centime banknote is about 1/200,000 of a US Dollar. A stack of them to make $50 would be 8.3 miles tall. ....they put serial numbers on them to discourage counterfeiting I suppose.

So...they're ahead of the curve in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
If it is soft and absorbent it could be useful because it’s cheaper than toilet paper.
I heard their space program was depicted on the trillion dollar note.
They stack rocks and then climb up.

I wonder what one centime will buy in the Congo? Must have some commercial function. Cheers, RickO
