Would anyone know who this person is that created Columbus plaque?

Is very large, maybe 12” across. Also, very high relief and only one side.
I can’t make out the name and thought someone might recognize it.
I’ve had this hanging on the wall for over 12 years.

Seems to read Bargas, but it is a little out of focus.
Perhaps Armand Bargas? He was a French medalist/sculptor who at one point produced a bronze medallion of Columbus.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
It looks like Bargas to me also...Cheers, RickO
More of his work (same signature):
TYVM all of you......now to see if this is his work or a knock-off.
I forgot all about this one and, it hangs on my wall next to my desk!
I do remember buying it on eBay at least 10-12 years but forgot what European country.

Some observations...
Most of the Bargas signatures I found online had the initial A as part of the signature. Yours doesn't but it might just be an earlier or later work.
What strikes me is how well done the portrait is, while the lettering is far less advanced (simple incused design). I wonder if the portrait was recycled to make this medal.
Is it solid bronze, or does a magnet stick to it? The hanger does not scream 1892 to me, but that is not definitive.
A nice plaque in any case.
Hard to tell on the hanger from the photo, but I wonder if it could have been added later...
Thanks again @JBK I agree about e signature. I’m going to check it with a magnet tomorrow.
I’ve been under the weather so I couldn’t get back sooner .
